There should be a fine for ref's for not watching the game or some kind of disciplinary action. I agree with you guys this time. I know i never do but you guys are good about this . Keep up the good work.

  2. As well, at 1:03 Garland cross checks McDavid as McDavid cross checks McDavid. Both heads are forced backwards, and both men then fall to the ice. It is clear, when slowed down. And the close up views show it better. Both should get the same suspension.

  3. European youth coach here: Embellishment in European Soccer is horrible, one of the reasons is why I prefer watching NHL.

Connor and Myers both getting 3 game suspension each is a joke. Garland even goes without suspension?
    – Connor got held for 13sec straight, facing possible injury to his shoulder/elbow and is cross checked as well.
    – Meyers, provoking with a late hit, a harder slash, cross checks Bouch right across the teeth without warning AFTER Bouch puts out is mouth protection.
    – Garland is holding, pushing, drawing….McDavid for 13 sec straight, is alomst dislocating his shoulder (watch Mo Salahs shoulder in soccer), cross checks, but goes without hearing and without suspension?

    Suspension should be:
longest period for Myers, then Garland, then McDavid
    Like: 5 games, 3 games, 1-2 games

  4. Anyone who sports bets on hockey is an absolute fool, you might as well be betting on WWE! Refs must have had money on the line through proxies, the odds with legalized gambling are just WAY TOO tantalizing. It's completely destroyed NHL and any accountability.

  5. Oilers need to have a Semenko or McSorley type player to make sure their star players don’t get pushed around like they are right now. Need more toughness

  6. 3 game suspension. Don’t protect the stars, and suspend them multiple games too. Great look NHL…… total f’ng garbage league.

  7. The Reffing is a fing joke the past 2 season, the refs should have have the same type of herring and fines and suspension layed out , DOP is shit dumb assess in charge and same with the video judges in TO

  8. Ray Charles has been inducted to the NHL Referees Hall of Fame! We know these NHL refs will join him someday!

  9. He needs to get a few games suspension not the only time he has done that lately

  10. Haha how did I know there would be so much bias coming from an Oilers YouTube channel. McDavid being babied by the refs is a joke. If you don’t think the refs let McDavid get away with a lot while also calling penalties against the other team then you’re nothing but homers with blinders on. He also chicken winged Johansson with an intentional elbow and put him on IR.

  11. Holding down Mcdavid this long with no call????..Wes should not be allowed to officiate in the future.ridiculous.

  12. Can we just fire a puck at McCauley and disguise it as icing…did same thing to Toronto and Kadri

  13. I am a footballer (soccer player) but whole heartedly agree with Louie on his take about embellishment!

  14. I wish McDavid dropped the gloves against Garland rather than the crosscheck. He wouldn't even have to throw a punch just wrestle him to the ground

  15. The refs are so horrible this year!
They need to clear house and get completely new refs period!

  16. Man you guys are out to lunch. Way too biased. None of this would have happened if they called the first holding penalty, which i didn't see who, but it was an oiler holding Peterson at the other end. So the canucks should have had the power play in the last-minute. Plus, mcdavid is absolutely protected. It's ubsurd You guys think he isn't.

  17. This got out of control because Wes just decided he’d let the clock run out instead of calling a penalty because he thought it would be easier . . The game goes to the buzzer so make a call who cares if there’s 10 seconds left . It’s his fault it got out of control even though I agree those cross checks were brutal

  18. Mario retired because he was better than everyone and so they cheated, and his back was sore from carrying the whole league and making everyone else a bunch of money.

  19. full disclosure, Canucks fan here. No call on Garland is outrageous. Think about it, it wasn't a bad play even if you get called so you've got a guy literally TRYING to take a penalty, and no call. Can I just ask, if that's not holding, wtf is?!
Having said that, Myers and McJesus simply had to get the same suspension. They did the exact same thing at the same time. Not sure about 3. I think 2 was the sweet spot, but league can't suspend them differently with a straight face.

  20. btw, are oiler fans so mad they don't see that at the time of the cross check, Garland butt-ends McDavid in the mouth? Thought y'all might be upset about that, no?

  21. Cue the McBaby apologists. Every Oilers fan is crucifying the refs for non calls against Connor because they think he should be able to figure skate to the net with no opposition at all. The reason ne is not drawing so many penalties as years past is because the refs, league, and real fans ( that's everyone who's NOT an Edmonton groupie) have had enough of his embellishments and theatrics.
They are totally blind to the fact that McDavid, much like Crosby, has no problem hacking, slashing, elbowing, chicken winging, and crosschecking other players and then claiming he was forced to do it. He's a chump. It’s a shame Ovi isn't going to get a chance to show him how a real hockey player stands up for himself.

  22. PLAYERS NEED TO TAKE A STAND…

Mario Lemieux and Brett Hull voiced their concerns in the late 1990s.

Lemieux left the game due to injury, but also because he was so frustrated with all the BS holding, hooking and obstruction the league allowed.

It is time today’s superstars band together and take a stand.

The NHLPA has a bigger voice than they realize.

They need all their top players to say something.

McDavid, MacKinnon, Leon Draisaitl, Crosby, Auston Matthews, Nikita Kucherov, Kirill Kaprizov, David Pastrnak, Mikko Rantanen, Mitch Marner, Cale Makar, Quinn Hughes, Zach Werenski and others.

Make a plan. Stand up together and on the same day voice their concern

    .

I don’t want to hear it “Isn’t the hockey way to complain.” It isn’t a complaint, it is pointing out a truth.

The NHL has opted to ignore the rulebook.

Just call the rules by the book. Isn’t that why you have a rulebook?

And don’t tell me refs don’t want to decide the game, so they don’t call close calls. By not calling actual penalties, they are potentially deciding games, by not putting a team shorthanded.

The Star Players deserve the right to showcase their skill and not have to fight through more stickwork and holding than the rest of the league.

It isn’t about asking for preferential treatment for the star players.

It is simply calling the damn rulebook.

It is time the NHL changes its mindset.

McDavid’s suspension isn’t the main issue — it’s the lack of league-wide calls on star players.

  23. lol
Take your pic of three separate penalties after three seconds of that kind of behaviour.
Does it take me back to the 80s era of clutching and grabbing but even that would’ve been called a penalty back then… McDavid deserved two games for his retaliation (that appears to be the benchmark the league had set), but it should’ve never got that far.
    ~leaf fan~

  24. I know rules are difficult for you, but IF Vancouver didn't have control of the puck you could have called 10 penalties it would not have stopped play unless you are suggesting that there should be a separate set of rules specifically for Oiler games…
