Hard to believe one player in this lot is "untouchable". Look away! With that posh attitude, they deserve to lose for the next 7-8 years. BTW, how come the RUINS can't get players like Dougie Hamilton?

Sweeney created this mess when he signed pasta to that horrible contract I would of fathered kept hall falingo ovi over signing pasta to that not friendly cap contract

changes in the 'lineup'??? How about changes TOP TO BOTTOM. Sweeny has been a drafting bozo for years. What good is an 'offensive defenseman' who is CONSTANTLY turning the puck over and handing the other team goals? Marchand will be 37 in a few months – what the hell do you think you'll get for him? Maybe a 6-pack of warm beer. Half the league makes the playoffs – the Bruins will miss it and continue to decline until Sweeny and Cam are gone and someone comes in and cleans house.
To me, the only untouchables are Swayman and Pasta….everyone else is available to the best offer. Load up on picks….NO rental players.
I really like Mike Millbury, but you have to take whatever he says with a grain of salt. He single handedly destroyed the Islanders with his myriad BLUNDERS.
Don't understand why McCovoy, Pasta and Swayman are untouchable . Pasta snd McCovoy are in their prime now and a rebuild takes tmve. They.all should be tradeable.

Time for some growing pains. The B’s have been a top team for a long time. Rebuild should have begun as soon as Bergy retired. Need to get it started sooner than later. Marchand should go to a Contender like the Avs. McAvoy is moveable in my opinion. I’m not certain he’s in a top 20 D-man convo at this point. Honestly I’d listen to offers on anyone. They need a top Center prospect at the very least. Time to stock the cupboards so we have a team worth watching in 2-5 years
The Bruins have always my should say almost always have shopped the bargain basement to try to make a team a bunch of hopefuls or potentials. We need people who produce results.
Swayman and Pasta are untouchable IMO I want to keep Lohrie as well cause the potential he has is great. If he can handle things better defensively in the future he is going to be a star I feel. Defenseman in the NHL is a hard task in today's game, he needs the time to learn it at the NHL level. We should try to keep Poitras as well cause he is our only young prospect with some actual talent it seems. Again, he has potentially a great upside.
McAvoy has been a flop, if teams come knocking and want to pay his salary and we can get good pieces for him, then you do it. The same goes for Marchand, If we can get solid returns for moving him…done deal.
We need pieces to fill this team in the now and future. We can't afford to let "assets" deteriorate to the point we get no returns for moving or losing them. A total rebuild philosophy could put you in a place like Buffalo or Chicago or Detroit. Do we really want to not make the playoffs for a decade?
Marchand IS captain !! You can’t polish a turd , Marchy can only do so much with what they give him . Think about it , Sweeny is the PROBLEM !!

The Boston Bruins aren't winning the Stanley Cup anytime soon and Brad Marchand is almost 37 years old. Marchand also has two surgically repaired hips and he's had more surgeries at the end of each season year after year.
He looks disinterested this year far too often and he's not even Captain material to begin with. At his best Marchand is a near aged out 2LW.
On a contending team his experience and role could be a HUGE difference maker in that team competing for the Cup this Spring. What's Marchand to Boston?
A near aged out player, whose best years are behind him, who will get worse over the next few years while still needing to be paid a high salary. It's seem like a no brainer to trade Brad Marchand as the assets he'd return in any deal would be far more valuable to the Bruins future than Brad Marchand would be but
ONE, Marchand has a full NTC, so if he says "NO" it's a NO.
Two, The Bruins under Don Sweeney won't even trade guys like Jake Debrusk and Brandon Carlo.
Do you really believe that Neely and Sweeney are now going to have a change of heart and start trading the team's Captain, whose one of their best players and whose also the longest tenured player in the organization who will 100% have his number retired at TD Garden one day?
If you believe those two will be open to trading Brad Marchand, I have a bridge in Methuen I can sell you. Call me🤣
Marchand and everyone not named Pastrnak, Swayman and McAvoy should be on the trade block too.
I'd trade those three but they aren't trading them so what's the point of discussing it.
Also, forget about trading Hampus Lindholm, Elias Lindholm and Nikita Zadorov either.
All three have full NTCs, make too much, have too much term and are either underperforming (Eliast Lindholm/Nikita Zadorov) or they're oft-injured and soft (Hampus Lindholm)
The Bruins only realistic trade assets are
Frederic Geekie Brazeau Beecher Coyle Zacha Carlo Korpisalo & Peeke
Geekie & Beecher are RFAs with Frederic and Brazeau being UFAs
Offer Geekie, Beecher and Brazeau just at market or below market deals now and if they don't take them put them on the trade block.
Moving Frederic and Peeke should be no brainers
Coyle, Zacha, Carlo and Korpisalo all only have 8-10 team NTCs so all four could be moved to two-thirds of the league and all four would have value to other teams
But again forget about trading Marchand, Pasta, Swayman, McAvoy, Hampus Lindholm, Elias Lindholm and Nikita Zadorov. The Bruins aren't trading any of those guys now or anytime soon if ever

Sacco benching Marchand is bush league. Marchand is one of the 2 players that score in OT. Ultimately, they lost a point they needed. Head games don't work in the NHL. Until the fans stop buying tickets, nothing will change.

Mike speaks the truth. We all were excited about the roster in October. I think management believed that the 4 lines they rolled each night had the skills, talents to deliver results. It hasn’t been the case.
