stolarz #1 nhl with 927%…ok now knies 18 goals….thats probally best in nhl amungst rookies…brady thachuk ottawa catain has 18 goal…leafs have injuries bud… stolarz.. mathews…tavares…knies…hakanpaa…mccabe was out…and marner spends most of games on defence now…leafs had 16[most back to back nhl] leafs are completly different play style bud now… all these stats in this video are irrelivent to me

Without having done the research, I suspect the hits and blocked shots averages being down may be a reflection of the Leafs possessing the puck with greater frequency.
I love love love the futility of Toronto, especially with Anaheim, Vegas, the Floridas having won Cups. It’s too hysterically funny.
It's not how many hits, but when and how hard. That is way different than the nudges last year that were called 'hits'. Also, the 1st time the Leafs played Boston, 2018, they went to 7 games but were blown out, really a 4 game series.
I do think its the last year for this core,if they dont make out of the division.

The only way to properly analyze the Leafs playoffs stats is by separating stats from Game 1-4 and 5-7 separately.

Want to see the Leafs win the Cup, then the NHL needs to put an expansion team in Mississauga or Oshawa. When that expansion team syphons off the Leafs' waiting list for season tickets and then makes the playoffs and goes deep in the playoffs then, and only then, you will see the Leafs do what needs to be done to win. That organization lacks the desire to win it all as they have tons of loyal following regardless of what they do and they are dripping money without having to win to do so.
The Sabres will win before the Leafs.
If only Tanev could score 40-50 goals from the D position…….but then if he could he would still be with Dallas.
While I look forward to the yearly Steve Dangle video post-elimination, I do hope he doesn't have to make that video one of these years and actually gets some pure joy from his team at some point. Just like I hope Shannon can see the Canucks win a cup eventually. Being a fan of certain sports teams can be brutal.
They remind me a lot of the Capitals which could be good
One thing I’ve noticed this season is they consistently get shut down and can’t generate any offence. They don’t have that explosive “don’t count them out” type of offence that they had under Keefe. They seem underwhelming.
On the flip side they defend better and teams have a harder time hemming them in their own zone, or scoring off the rush. Goaltending is also the best it’s been in the Matthews era.
I think all of this is irrelevant of course until the playoffs but my worry is they just get shut down offensively in the playoffs, especially against the teams they’ll need to get through to make a deep run.
I think their new play style only works when they play hard, skate hard, and out work the other team and I don’t see that enough right now. My hope is they’re “saving it” for the playoffs and they’re able to flip that switch and play harder.
If they don’t go past the first round and win some games in the second I think you gotta let Marner walk and use that space to sign someone else.
If somehow San Jose gets in and somehow goes against then who are in the East, maybe Toronto would win.
