I wouldn't call the Blues' WC jerseys a flop, as there have been much worse designs, but I agree that it was unimpressive. They were also not based on the unused 1967 prototype, they were an almost exact replica of the 1933 St Louis Flyers jerseys. I personally like the Blues' consistent color scheme for their outdoor/heritage jerseys, but I agree that the yellow stripes don't contrast enough with the cream.
The "Detroit" script on their Stadium Series jersey is an ode to Michigan and Michigan State hockey jerseys

The thing with detroit's jersey… the Um/OSU rivalry has been played up since the announcement. Detroit played into that with a script reminiscent of both Michigan and Michigan State as both wear a script font at times. Columbus didn't play into that and went their own route. If both played into the college rivalry, it would have been better. In conclusion, fuck ohio 😂

Let's not forget the fact that this Winter Classic was scheduled during New Years Eve DAY, where not a lot of people get New Years Eve off. Also, it wasn't even the only game on the schedule? There was a regular slate of other teams playing, essentially burying the spectacle a Winter Classic is supposed to be?
Great video as always, Chris! The Flyers REALLY need to make a black alternate jersey next season in their new home/away style to bring back the 90s look. It would print them money👀 either that or at least some sort of new black alternate design all together – I’m so tired of the 2017 Stadium Series design with the wrong color orange now that they made the swap to burnt orange.
Do not buy a fanatics custom jersey, the name and numbers they add don't match the colors or the logo on the front, they are aware of this and don't plan on making it right, ask me how i know.

I really hope the Bolts Stadium jersey is not pirate themed, maybe a small nod, but stadium series is supposed to be modern and pirates would've suited the winter classic better.

Those blue jackets jerseys are perfect. If they're not going to wear the cannon thirds as a primary, a modern look based on these would do just fine.
Different franchise than the Rangers but a New York/Brooklyn Americans throwback with the full Stars and Stripes getup would be a real sight to see and a cool nod to MSG’s original tenants
The Red Wings stadium series helmets are VERY reminiscent of Dominik Hasek’s goalie helmet & cage design when he played for Detroit. VERY COOL!

Your suggestion of a Heritage Classic for next season reminds me of something. March 3 2025 will be the 150th anniversary of the first every organized hockey game which took place in Montreal at a now-demolished venue which stood around 100m from where the Bell Centre is now. The Canadiens are hosting the Sabres that night, so there ought to be some sort of commemoration. We'll see what happens.

I thought the stripe on Detroit's helmets was a racing stripe; "motor city" and all.
Also, the script font is supposed to be similar to the Wolverines' jerseys, which have "Michigan" across the chest, in the same font

One small thing you missed in the video (perhaps it was too recent to squeeze it in) – the Devils wore a shoulder patch last Wednesday 1/22 vs the Bruins to recognize the induction of Jacques Lemaire into the team’s Ring of Honor.
I was wondering if there would be anything on the Caps’ use of a TikTok ad patch, but it seems that has fizzled into a non-issue…. For now at least.

has a team ever been changed in the winter classic/stadium series? i really hope the bruins drop out, theres nothing there between the bolts and boston. Hell Florida and Boston wouldve been better, i mean it would be the first ever outdoor game that was a 7-0 final when the panthers demolish us but at least theres a recent history there (if you can call us getting destroyed repeatedly that).
Realistically should be Florida vs Tampa in the WC if the league wants outdoor hockey in florida, theres only so much tacking on an original 6 team can do for viewership,
all in all i just don't want this pathetic bruins team to play in an outdoor game, they really haven't earned it, and if they do ever earn it again, it should be against toronto, but no that would make too much sense for the league.
Also missing the WCOH and team NA and Czechia(and others), a 4 team tournament just feels hollow

Every Hawks fan fully expected the team to play like garbage outdoors, as has been the case for every game for them outside other than at Soldier Field, even for the years when the team was, you know, competent.
