I am sorry , but everyone knows that Stu Skinner is the problem. He is a realy nice guy , but he cant play consistent on a high level. This creates permanent uncertainty on the defensive side. I can't understand why there isn't open talk about strengthening the goalkeeper area, because this position is perhaps the most important in hockey. But I'm sure that the management knows that too
Oh my god get a goalie. It should be the only thing this organization is concerned with at the deadline. We can't keep dominating games and losing them because 2 or more soft goals are going in every night
It's always disappointing to see all the goalie hate when a team loses… Was it Skinner's finest night? No. But it wasn't the rest of the teams finest night, either! And even so, it was a close game!!
I don't understand why Oilers fans get so pressed when they lose a single game, like they suddenly have amnesia with the fact that the Oilers are at the top of the division, with a 10 point lead over 3rd ranking team 😅
My follow up comment. Here's my Couch Coach advice to Knoblauch. The team needs to throw away the high light high flying reels for the first. Defend defend defend, plug the neutral zone and collapse in front of Skinner every chance they get to block shots in the 1rst. Give Skinner any kind of defensive help he needs in the first. Every team knows if they go hard in the first they'll bury at least 2 on Skinner in the first easily! Every team knows this. if the Oil are focused on offense in the first with Skinner in net the boys will be chasing the game for the next 60 minutes. Then put together the highlight reels in the 2nd and 3rd. Skinner clearly cannot cope with high flying first periods. Skinner needs his team to defend, defend, defend, block, block, block and plug up the neutral zone until Skinner gets his head on straight for the 2nd and 3rd. Skinner's stats and 1rst period patterns are so crystal clear. Just atrocious. This is the only strategy the Oil should be executing with Skinner. You can see a completely different kind of confidence with the team in first periods with Pickard. Jesus Murphy this isn't rocket science. Just look at Skinner's first period stats. Easy fix in my Couch Coach opinion.

The coach is delusional. Nylander had four chances in the first period by himself. Edmonton didn’t have an answer for nyLander. The leafs capitalized on their chances and 🧱Woll was the better of the two goalies. Not to mention, McDavid had a 🍩

Think about this, without Ekholm Bouchard is a nobody. Goaltending is a concern .I keep on thinking of Skinner on the shootout. Do I need to say anymore. Oh I heard Bouchard is going to be worth 10mil. LOL X 10. Get rid of him in my opinion. Give Klingburg up to 4.5 for 2 years. STOP giving long contracts at crazy money. The game was played well unfortunately they couldn't buy a goal. Felt right from the start it wasn't in the cards. Keep up the good work.
Skinner isn’t a #1. He’s very shaky. We need a goalie and some decent D. We outplayed maple laughs for the most part.
Chris, going into the third playoff with Skinner in goal is a guarantee of relegation. He has already let the team down many times, conceding 3 goals from 5-8 shots!!! Then the guys have to play very energy-intensive hockey! These forces won't be enough for the playoffs! They lose their attitude, faith and motivation, and all because a low-level goalkeeper allows himself to play like that! Chris, going to the playoffs with Skinner would be a loss of motivation for the team for next season.
