I don't entirely mind them not fighting. I think it would have been another thing entirely if there hadn't been a match penalty, and Noesen had come back to the ice unchallenged, but giving the opportunity for the Refs to punish Noesen in my opinion is wise.
I think fighting is only still in the game because more often than not the League and the refs fail to adequately punish dirty hits. Here the refs got it right. No need for fisticuffs.

COZENS AND QUINN should be ex SABRES , COZENS is horrific defensively , and adds nothing offensively ( TUCHS stats suffer do to COZENS lack of playing making ability) QUINN is physically weak , and his skating is not at a NHL level. As far as toughness , this is all on our incompetent GM . this team is screaming for a couple no nonsense players but our GM looks the other way . Guys like POWER , SAMUELSON, TUCK all 6.4” afraid of their own shadow. Not to react to a clear dirty hit is embarrassing . Not surprised on the team’s lack of response.

We had so many hits and exchanges at the time, I’m glad they didn’t focus on retribution and instead kept on their defense to win the game. His shitty hit don’t cost us the win, and that’s key— he wanted to rattle the Sabers. For once I stand with Ruff on this call.

I think the hit was behind the play and no one saw who laid the hit. I can agree with both sides here. You want reaction from the players on the ice, go after somebody. If you know who laid the hit, even better. Maybe in this scenario, not knowing who it was, grab somebody, get in somebody's face, put a glove in someones face.
I do understand Zuckers comments after the game. If you are not going to go after the culprit, the second best thing you can do is win, go for the win, hold the lead, w.e. the scenario calls for to win.
This team is fragile and I think improving at winning has been their number one priority over the last months. I guess instincts should take over after something like that happens. But I think players on this team were more concerned about winning because that has been their focus. Improving their overall game as a team.
The thing I agree with Joe on 100% no questions asked. This is a team that is not connected. I have said for the last several weeks this team does not have the heart to win. You'd hope they at least have the guts and heart to stick up for a team mate. Maybe that's not the case, which is extremely unfortunate.

i get being mad about the hit but it's hockey. You can't say "he didnt need to throw a hit" hitting is part of the game. it was a dirty hit, definitely head contact but saying he didn't need to throw a hit just sounds soft.
