  1. We all know the problem with the Leafs is that they're a 4 man team, but it would be boring to say that every episode.

  2. This is all such funny talk.
It won't matter who the Leafs trade until they fix the team culture.

  3. Other than the 2021-2022 season, the St Louis Blues under Craig Berube were barely over leave average for goals for. Craig Berube hockey doesn't promote high scoring offense.

  4. i love the leafs however history will show the same. out in 5 games in play offs. The players got paid but have no will to win. Why win i or they make the same ??

  5. No one wants to play in TOR and no one already here wants to leave , TOR is doomed!
Fire Shanahan and then maybe they can fix something!

  6. Knies gets hurt every playoffs, Woll as well, Mathiews sat out a few games so did Nylander. I highly doubt this group can do anything.

  7. They need to go get brock Nelson. He’s a 30 goal scorer every year 6”4 fast . Everyone else is making trades and he’s if not the best one of the best available left especially for centres

  8. my main issue or question is this… Why wait ?? Seriously, why wait FOR the deadline? Make a significant move now if it works.. there are already some big names off the board , and no I'm not saying those big guys were targets for the Leafs but why wait?

  9. Here is what bugs me about the Leafs brass.. Like Reilly, he's been with the Leafs forever.. BUT, this is a business and they have to treat it as such. IF, and I'm saying they are, but IF the Leafs are considering trading Reilly and it comes down to " well, they just had a baby and his wife's business is based here, so we can't trade him.. he isn't going anywhere" , then that's a complete fail on the Leafs management .. again, I like Reilly but if a move is there and it makes sense, then you pull the trigger regardless of the intangibles.. That is one thing that separates other teams from the Leafs.. and I am all for compassion in the sport and business, but at the end of the day they are employees.. employees there, getting paid massive money, to deliver and if it comes down to moving a player or certain players, you can't let the intangibles get in the way of that. Reilly has had a crap year, he is not the D man he once was. He sure isn't playing like a $7 million a year player, that's for sure. I was chatting with a fellow worker yesterday and I kept going over what so many analyists keep saying.. " how many partners has Reilly had over the years".. and I admit, he's had some crap partners.. BUT, if he goes through that many players and can't get a " perfect partner", when do we start to ask the question, " umm, maybe Reilly is the issue"???

  10. guys ( on the SDPN), it's not about over valuing Robertson's trade stock.. we know he won't fetch much BUT it's still money off the cap, it's giving him a fresh start ( we know he demaded a trade early on this year) and making room on the bottom 6 for guys who can do more. If you ask me, I would FAR rather have Grebenkin or Minten in his spot, I think they bring more and want it more but that's just me. Robertson alone will bring you a back up pucks and some tape.. but he could be a piece added to a package deal that could sweeten the deal a little for a target piece or two.. instead of asking what Robertson could bring, what would Reilly, Robertson, Cowan and a couple picks bring?

  11. We aren't hoping a team looks at Robertson and thinking man, he's on fire.. they are going to look at him in a package deal thinking ( we hope) that man, this kid has potential and we can pair him with X and X player and hope to bring him out.. if it doesn't, oh well, he's at $875,000.. whoopee .. it's a low risk, possibly high reward for a player like that..

  12. As much as I despise Bad Treliving as a GM, he has pulled off some good trades.

  13. The fact Leafs management handed out NMC's like ol' Lady Griselda handing out "Save the clock tower " Pamphlets at a Back to the future rally, shouldn't have anyone surprised. Yet here we are talking about trading Reilly Marner mid season , no matter how much you scream into the abyss of stupidity that they have a full NO MOVE CLAUSE.. This team can not make any deals concerning the core 5. Any deals going forward means moving what ever is left in the Leafs already depleted cup boards. Whether it be picks 5 years down the road or the plethora of overage prospects noons wants. Til something gives get ready for a steady diet of Joel edmundsons and more used up elderly star players ( lookin at you O'Reilly, Plekanec)

  14. Completely disagree with Jesse’s take. Teams like the Leafs need prospects in the pipeline Knies, Robertson and Woll that can fill roles in their ELC (or bridge deal) to save cap space on other players.

Imagine where the Leafs would be if they decided to go even further in 2 seasons ago and traded Knies only to be bounced in the conference finals. Where would they be today?

The lack of scoring depth the Leafs have is due to missing these types of players and missing them for so long.

  15. McMann is a boss when hes line 1 he scores and consistently

    my line 1 would be the fallowing….NYLANDER RW..MATHEWS center…. MCMANN LW…MARNER rd….REILLY ld…thats a line 1.

leafs dont really need to make a trade so desperately they have a great team when healthy…i mean if its cheap and can help then ok..leafs need to focus on re signing marner rather then trade market..as for robertson i like him on line 2 or 3 wing

  16. as for saad hes on vegas…as for petterson hes not going anywhere…infact miller was basically for bringing in his brother as a rental…marcus…pettersons arnt going anywhere

  17. Elias Pettersson, 13 playoffs games last year, 1 goal 5 assists. If that doesn't confirm he's being traded to the Leafs nothing will..

  18. We can't risk going into next season potentially losing marner and knies!!! If a deal can't be done with knies, they have to move him. Unfortunately, we're going to have to package out a bottom 6 and a prospect in either mitten or Cowan. Especially if the leafs are not willing to move first round pick.
Also on a side note. I'm curious to know if anyone has been keeping tabs on jonathan Towes and what kind of timeline is he's looking at for a return.

  19. Struggling pretty big stretch we just litterally had bad luck over short losing streak bunch of posts or very bad bounces not too mention we relying on one goalie not "healthy" yet

  20. Wife has a job? Just had a baby? These should not be valid reasons to keep an overpaid under performing professional hockey player, Trading Morgan Reilly is the #1 thing the Leafs can do to improve their roster at this point, it would be massive addition by subtraction. You can pay 2 D players the same money as Mo and actually have 2 players that can play defense, I'm not saying I hate the guy or that he's not a fan favorite, but having 2 capable D > 1 offensive defenseman that isn't doing anything on both sides of the puck and is the highest paid D on the team.

  21. Morgan need to step up, he's invisible. Spending picks and money on another ROR or Foligno who will run away right after the whistle is a losers strategy.

  22. Oleksiak and Tanev from Seattle are exactly the type of players. Heavy, hard hitting defender and a defensive relentless middle six forward.
