Harold Ballard did nothing wrong when he locked out the media and said they should go back to writing to children’s books and comics. Boomer writers don’t know when to call it quits.
If Evan bouchard is going to play defense he needs to play defense the right way, that means playing the man first and the puck second 100% of the time, he's got a good stick so he'll still get his share of steals and uses incredible offensive talent to move the puck up the ice, creating odd man brakes and scoring chances for his teammates. He plays with the best two hockey players in the world so his numbers are inflated, I always felt that the oilets would get to the Stanley cup finals and lose game 7, on a bouchard mistake which is exactly what happened last year, 10 great offensive plays do not make up for one very poor defensive play, if it results in a goal against. it wasn't a physical error like a giveaway , ,this time, it was a mental mistake that the best defenseman just don't make.
Just don’t over pay him
Evan is a professional hockey player and it’s a hard business. He has been lazy at times this year and when you’re a pro you have to bring it.
He’s is certainly in a slump and the way to get out of a slump is to put in the work. I look forward to seeing a turnaround in his defensive play. We all know he’s great offensively.
Happy Birthday, Doc!
To be clear, I'm a Bouchard fan..sure he's young and at times has not always been consistent in his level of play, but by most metrics he's still an excellent player in this league, is exciting to watch, and I'm glad we have him on the team. Having said that…its funny that you accuse Spector of a "hit job" on Bouchard…and yet that's exactly what you just did to Spector. I found it interesting that you focused an entire video singling him out whereas in my opinion Spector was simply articulating a number criticisms/frustrations that fans and other journalists have also made. Frankly, smart players don't pay too much attention to what is said in the media – they focus on playing the game and living their lives. However, if a player is that thin skinned that an article written by Mark crushes his confidence, or contributed to driving him out of town…then perhaps being being paid millions to be a professional athlete isn't the right career path.
