The only justification I can give MNGMT for moving Miller instead of Petterson is the plan is to move both. Get maximum value out of NYR falling out of a Wildcard Race, then turn to CBJ and trade them Petterson to stay in the race and maximize returns on both players.
Still would have rather seen Petey leave and Miller stay.

As a Rangers fan since 2011 it’s weird seeing him come back home being such a man.
It’s almost like we never should have traded him away… those 100 point seasons would have been REAL nice for us and he’s exactly what we needed in a few of our playoff runs.

So many moments of brilliance, grit and determination but no amount of talent makes up for toxic mood swings that affect the entire team. Great when the team is winning and he's scoring but a defensive liability and a selfish player if you don't play his way. We'll see how long before he starts losing his cool and getting into conflicts with the Rangers a notorious fickle dressing room.
