I don`t want to lessen Drais play so far, but you`re disrespecting a lot of great players having outstanding seasons.
Helle is having the best goalie season since a while, 33 wins only 7 losses with .925 SV and 2.04 GAA? That`s insane!
And for sure brings him into MVP contention.
MacKinnon has the heck of a season, 83 pts in 56 games. He`s so dynamic, so spectacular, creating offense out of thin air with every speed burst.
Kucherov is not discussed a lot but he has the highest P/GP at 1,55 and has 79 points in only 51 games.
I don`t want to forget Makar, but there are 2 D that basically drag their teams into playoff contention alone.
Hughes is basically shouldering the Nucks – and Werenski is lifting Columbus, a what should be a lottery team and is the leagues minimal spender, up into a wildcard spot.
There are really good players, no doubt about Draisaitl.
His season is crazy because he`s a menace on both ends of the ice now, and was playing mostly with Arvidsson and Podkolzin. While the Oilers PP isn`t really working well.
He has 38 goals already, mostly 5vs5 and got the one or other goal called back, and then even didn`t go for the ENGs when he could have. Also, he seems to have hit the post quiet a lot.
He could be well above 40 goals already.
But it`s not only him having an outstanding season.
