If they get cozens it will be in summer enless Buffalo can retain half his salary this year . He’s making $7 million dollars with 26 points .
Cousins playing with Nylander might improve his points totals but 100 ipts plus?? I think that's a bit of a stretch, even when Buffalo did " well " like they said he had 68, and his next highest is 47, I think 4 1/2 years is enough to get a sense for a player and playing with Nylander isn't going to magically double his points totals
I'm getting a sense that Robertson has come down to earth regarding expectations. He is a solid player, who I think will get better. But he is probably expendable.
Domi has had a bad year point-wise, but he is helping and a great utility player.
Keep Minten, Cowen…look at the likes of Kampf, Lorentz, and Dewar as solid players that you can trade. Domi has a cap-hit but I think he is a keeper.
These three, Dewar, Kampf, Lorenz, maybe Robo, and possibly a blue chip from the Marlies are what I would be willing to offload for help towards a playoff run.
Our D is the best it has been in years, we still have some injuries and no worries about goal as long as Stolarz gets better. We need another strong center, and one or two solid, gritty, no-nonsense forwards who want to be here. I would like players who know Tanev or have played with him…he doesn't f#ck around.
The cap is going up, and as long as player/agent greed doesn't takeover, we will have money for other players. Marlanderthews will only be three taking up a big chunk, not four. Johnny T stays at a lower salary, we have Knies etc., and more money. The core-four if they finally lead us past the second, will have been worth it and stay.
We have pieces we can trade, but the core-four aren't leaving, McMann is solid, and Knies is the future of this team.
Knies will be Captain one day and I say he will be the player closest to replacing Clark, something we haven't been able to do in over thirty years.

Nice player, but the leafs big issue, as i see it, is no stud on D…sure they have guys who will be good in blocking shots and clearing the front of the net, but no real stud who will start a rush, throw a huge hit, shoot a cannon from the point. That what they need more than anything else, A real good 3rd line center would be nice, but i dont think it is the priority.
No chance the leafs can make a $7m cap hit fit.

As much as i like minton as a person i dont think this kid will ever be a 2nd line center so add him into that deal give them a first rounder in 2026 i believe they have , and if they flunk again this playoffs sell off guys for more picks and bring cowan up next season grebankin like this is the fucking year if these 5 fucking kittens aka core 5 guys have any chance to win or atleast make it to a finals its this year !!
