Red Wings goaltending was absolutely atrocious today! Gave up 4 goals on 7 shots in the first period & the game was already over! 😤😠😡 Wings couldn’t buy a save in the first period. 🤬🤬🤬 They go on a two week hiatus now, just before this stupid hockey tournament in the middle of the season. Sad/Awful game & worst way to end another 7 game winning streak at home & play like crap for us home fans!! Plus after 3 days off, no excuse for a homecoming game like this and just before 13 straight days off!!! 😡😡🤬 But don’t worry Red Wings players…you still get you bloated paychecks after this game that you barely showed up for!!! PATHETIC.
Starting Lyon was a massive mistake. No idea why he started today. Urgency wasn’t there in the first. Compher, Copp, Valeno, Rasmussen, and especially Holl are complete dead weight on this team. Holl is the worst defenseman in the NHL.
It's too bad Lyon and Talbot were still drunk or something for the first period. Compher back to the game and missing chances to score like usual. Would have gained nice ground if they ended up winning. At least we were playing good and outshooting them by a large number most of the game. Just need to wake up before that 1 pm start next time

Talbot and Lyon single-handedly won several games during that streak when we probably didn’t deserve it… it was only a matter of time until they lost a game that we should have won. It happens. Some positive things in this game, but it stings to lose to that team
We Absolutely suck against the lightning. I'm so sick of it.
Breakouts were an absolute struggle, and while there were a lot of shots on net we were not shooting the puck when we needed to. Sucks to lose to those dusters after a great win streak, hopefully after the break they can reset. I’m very much looking forward to next season when we hopefully start bringing up more draft picks and the dead weight of this roster gets traded for a bag of chips and a vape
Games like these make game look fixed. The freebies Wings gave them needs to be addressed. Makes the coaches look like idiots.
The "game management" and turnovers feel like remnants from the DNA of Lalonde's playing style, those big brain farts that came from guys being in the wrong place or trying to do too much

At least Todd actually pulled Lyon, one of the reasons I hated Lalonde was he refused to pull the goalie. If he did he would do it between periods when they were down by 4 and the game was already out of hand

No reason or excuse for the horrible game at all. I find it odd that the team seems to have bad luck with nationally televised games. Lyon should have also been pulled after the first goal. Luckily, they're still up there in the standings with plenty of games to play.
Slow start and poor goaltending cost them big time tonight. Defense looked sloppy and dis-jointed. We know this team is still capable of these games but thankfully they are few and far between these days. Tough game but a rest for most of them will be good. Congrats to Tarasenko on 300 NHL goals. Looking forward to the 2 weeks break as I've no interest in this pointless 4 team "tournament"

Defence Defence Defence! and Holl… is amateur hour out there. Standing there on the other side of the net watching the forward waiting for the feeder pass to tap it in. Just f'in standing there like a pylon. Forget the trade for a forward we need another strong D man and quick. He consistently is behind plays and not in the good way.

awful coach. Kane dominated the game today even despite being w terrible linemates. so much so that McLellan started giving him random shifts w the first line and w berggren compher. but never w the line he belongs on. led the team in xGF% at 5v5 and overall (by a lot). supercharged the power play and even supercharged random 5v5 lines. one of only 2 players not on the ice for a goal against.
hope Pat asks for a trade. shameful conduct from this amateur hour coaching staff that has never made a final or won anything of note.
will the carelessness result in anyone being demoted? Kane was one of the best players in the league for weeks but for one period of carelessness is now permanently buried in the lineup. when will anyone else be held to this standard that seems exclusively to apply to him?
Have a good break, and finish the season strong. Team has the most difficult strength of schedule to finish off the year so gonna be tough, but try to persevere!
I guess Lyon reached his season limit and will now completely suck ass for the rest of the year.
both teams have a winger who plays like Kane plays. the difference in this game is Tampa is coached by a 2 time Cup winning, 4 time finals making hall of fame coach. so their Kane style winger is on the 1st line with elite talent. the Wings have a head coach who in 17 years has never made a final let alone won a Cup, so their Kane style winger is on the 3rd line buried w AHLmer and Rasnothing.
You cannot win games playing one good period in the NHL
Theyre back in it. Thats all that matters. Lets win more than we lose from here on and were golden. Key: consistency.

God, you can tell most of the whiners on here are fare weather fans, 15-5-1 in the last 21 is outstanding, and this team absolutely will make the playiffs!
