The Islanders need to move on from Nelson. The team needs to get younger. Nelson had a good career with the Islanders, but I think both sides would benefit from a change.

I don’t like Atlanta but if they have the money and can sell tickets…. In terms off relocation, there are still some issues with the Jets who would be the likely candidate to move.

Marchand is not even worth a 4th round draft pick. He is way too expensive for the return.

savard should go. he probably doesn't bring back a 1st on his own, but we should be able to snag a 2nd. and that's better than letting him walk for nothing. if we need a vet RD to replace him, i'm sure there are a few of his caliber on the UFA market. he might even be there himself. but deal him now, so he can be a 3RD on a contender, and so we can get a return. picking up carrier has made savard a bit more expendable.
i say we should make a play for dobson. laine, mailloux, cgy 1st, later 2nd (mtl/pit). maybe pitch this with dvorak/anderson coming from mtl and pageau from NYI as well. dvorak if in-season, anderson if not.
how about dach, 2026 cbj 2nd, luke tuch, and armia for cozens? sorry, sabres, i'm not risking a 1st and dach. but they're getting a marginal downgrade if any at all on the player, a 40ish pick, alex's brother, and armia would probably be flipped, with retention, for at least a 3rd.
The NHL would love to award 4 expansion teams to Hartford, Houston, Kansas City, and Quebec City.
