I'm not a fan of Russia going to war with Ukraine, but I feel like Russian athletes should not be sanctioned because of this. It really isn't their fault. Let them play.
Jason, I agree with the way you’re looking at the 4-Nations tournament. It should already be over. That said:
I’m 61, and have been on and off disability for the past twenty years because of medical issues. I don’t have cancer and I’m not going to tell you I know what you’re going through. I don’t. I just know how it is when you CAN’T do anything but lay there and try and keep your mind distracted so you don’t continue to focus on the bad stuff. Flyers games do that well, especially if they win. I have also picked a SyFy series or whatever you like, something like “Star Trek” where you can watch episode after episode and it just distracts you from how you’re really feeling.
II’ve had 16 surgeries and procedures but that pain becomes manageable on day two or three after the surgery. Not always but that’s the “Norm”. When that pain or uncomfortable feeling doesn’t go away for days, weeks, years, it becomes a rival for your time and energy and effort. It can become an Sometimes it feels like everything is going on and you’re a ghost, monitoring life from your couch . Stay Out of There, or have help available to help keep you sane. It can be so monotonous.
You’re going to get through this, NO DOUBT about it. I will keep you in my prayers. God bless you.
I hear you Jason. Maybe this treatment just stand tall in net and take the shots and absorb them making those saves on your life knowing the shots of treatment will make you stronger over time. Like a goalie who gets better when they are seeing the puck more;) Love you and love the great work you do for us faithful Flyers fans!
Jason good to see you back today, last evening. I do not like this two week or so break in the schedule. The only good thing is that those players that are nicked up will heal without losing any games or more games. I hope the Flyers come back ready to work and go on a run and get back into a playoff spot. Jason Stay tough and stay strong and positive, you will beat this !! You are in our prayers daily !
You are beating this, Jason!
Get pissed, feel down, look ahead and feel it is daunting, but know we all see you as a champ that knows how to get through this.
From your perspectives of the Flyers throughout the year, if you stay positive and objective like that good things will happen.
Get to the front of that net, and good things'll happen. I know the Flyers'll play with extra passion for you, Jason. Fans like me are behind you too.
Keep fighting, champ!
Thanks for the honest takes on what you’re going through. Glad to hear the tumour is shrinking, and fingers crossed the treatment doesn’t hit you as hard this time. Go Flyers and Go Myrtetus!!
Only the NHL would be this hamhanded to try and shoehorn this fugazi tournament in.
Put in on in September like the old Canada Cup.
Nobody cares about this. When the season resumes, the hockey will be dreadful.
Keep up the fight Jason!
Thanks for sharing the reality of your situation Jason. Hopefully this treatment doesn't knock you down quite so far. I'm curious if you ever watch PWHL games? Watching them last year made me remember how much I like hockey and got me back into the Flyers and NHL after a while away from the game. There's not a ton of games since the PWHL is still only 6 teams, but they're fun to watch!!
Hate breaking up the season and you can't eliminate all the great Russian players from such a tournament. What could the Flyers get say from the Winnipeg Jets for Laughton? Could they pry away a center prospect like Lambert or Yager? Would they have to throw in a draft pick? God bless you in your treatment process and will be praying for your full recovery.
I’m filling the time off by watching AHL hockey Jason why don’t you check out the phantoms games Friday sat Sunday it will also maybe give you some content to talk about and I would love to hear some phantoms stuff from you.
Myrt, if watching Flyers or Eagles winning games makes you feel good. Like they do for me. Look up the Flyers Cup winning games. Watch the 2 Eagles Super Bowl winning games as well. Do anything that brings you joy! You go this!💪
Hey Jason, just wanted to reach out and wish you well. I’m a long time listener and registered nurse from CT. Sadly, I often see people in their most vulnerable state and I just wanted to let you know that you’re doing great, despite the circumstances. It’s really good that you can be open and talk about it, as I’m sure you’ve found out, you’re not alone in this fight. Keep fighting… the tunnel sucks, but there is a light at the end. I probably listen to every Flyers podcast out there, and yours is usually the most positive and hopeful for the future; use that same outlook on your health. Being positive actually does help believe it or not. Go Flyers! looking forward to better days for them and you as well.
Keep fighting Jason!! You got this!! 🙏🥅🏒
No BS. We are not the ones fighting for our lives here, you are. This is not a game. This is the shity part of living this life. Without modern medicine, you may not have this chance to fight. Is that a blessing? Then fight! It has been said, most people give up right before they succeed. Please do what YOU want. We should all have No regrets in the end. Thank you for your honesty and sharing your struggles of cancer with us. This will be apart of your legacy on the air. And you are helping so many others that are too afraid to speak about it. God bless you.
Thanks for being honest and sharing your experience. I’m sending positive energy your way 👍
Appropriate you, Jason. Keep fighting. You have so many supporters behind you. Get well soon. 👊 🥅🏒
Pulling for you buddy.
Its OK to be afraid Jason and to not look forward to treatment. Your human and treatments suck! But do your best to look at the long view which is each treatment is a step forward to beating this thing. And today you are taking another step. Take care and stay positive!
Had a little bit of a leg issues myself a year ago cancer free today kick it's ass my brother all my love, Go Flyers go. ❤
I'll be thinking about you Jason. I really hope this treatment is easier on you.
Keep pushing Jason! Thanks again for all that you do.
Keep pushing, keep grinding. Try to find something (movie, book, music, show) to keep your mind positive. I look forward to your "daily" everyday. This show is my positive. You are not giving anything in this life that you can not handle. You will make it! Go Flyers and Go Myrtetus!!!!
Glad to see an episode, and glad to hear it sounds like things are (medically) going in the right direction. I hope the US-FIN game tonight gives you some exciting hockey, the game last night was way more intense and fun to watch than I would have expected. Truly hope you make it through the next stretch of days and find some of that energy again on the other side.
KEEP KICKING ASS JASON!
Treatment 3 is in the books. Resting now at home. Doc Made some tweaks to my chemo mix and hoping that lessens the side effects to some degree.
Thank you to every single one of you for your compassion and motivation. It helps. I promise you that.
Head Down-Keep Pushing
Jason
Nothing wrong with any of this. Glad you feel this is a place you can sit these feelings…. We got you. Your friends send that positive energy to you to help amplify
Feel better Jason love ya man! Said a prayer for you today buddy
Keeping you in my prayers Jason
I don't like the idea of pausing the season for these turnoments which are meaningless, they should have waited till the end of playoffs or begining of the season.
