I now see why you leaf fans dislike Marner. He is absolutely afraid to go into the corners. I witnessed it multiple times through this game. This was a heavy hitting game from the Americans… He lets up because he is afraid to get hit and gives up the puck. Marner won the last game, sure, but the dude does not have fight in him. No wonder your Leafs have done squat in 8 seasons since Matthews was drafted…
I wish some of that edge would rub off on Auston but I highly doubt that will happen😒

All 3 of the Leafs this tournament have been invisible…I really hope Brad is watching and noticing Marner is not worth 14M. I noticed Sam Bennet more than Marner and Bennet played 4 minutes. I like Marner but looks out of his element completely and dont give me this BS about him winning game one. He did nothing for 65 minutes and got a goal.

I don't hate USA hockey. Love Matthews – he will always be imho the greatest Maple Leaf of all time. This tournament is unbelieve, I have found new respect for all the Canadian boys who I've detested in the past for their greasy plays and successes over the Leafs for many years (Hagel, Point, Cirelli, Marchand, Stone). Unbelievable lock-down performance by the USA team, kudos to them. Canada just didn't have it, poor offensive pressure, and mid goal tending. We need to win vs FIN so we can perhaps have another chance at redemption in the final vs USA.
