  1. Trade him one for one for fantili or dobson. But I donno if that even possible anymore.

  2. Highly paid players being hurt for what? Does this help the team who pays big money make it into the playoffs? I don't think so! The all-star game is fine no one gets hurt at those but this is something total different.

  3. The only medicine that will make any difference for Elias Petterson is winning, and he doesn't even have to be the guy making the wins happen, he just has to be on the team that has a good solid winning run and his confidence will begin to build. This is the only way.

  4. They bet on the wrong horse. Should have kept JT Miller. You win with Hard Charging Power Forwards, not weak, moody, introverted Swedes.

  5. Petey is broken , he really needs a fresh start … but off season is the right time

  6. Kinda done with marek’s naysaying. He took a stance. Won’t back down. It’s awesome hockey the hockey world has been gagging for! Just admit it. Poor loser on a really bad take. Just admit it! Bla bla sports history boring ! And I’m older than him, so I’ve seen all those tournaments. The people absolutely ARE getting what they want! Respectfully. Shut up. Yer just trying to be a contrarian. It’s a bad look!

  7. Sweden has trouble generating pace on its own and got dragged down into Finlands pace and at that pace Finland was better. Vs Can and the US Sweden doesnt have to push pace, only play at that pace, and that they can do. They also lacked a good net front presence on the PP and picked a few too many small players like Arvidsson and Nyquist

  8. To be fair, Miller isn't doing much on the USA side either… I think they completed each other, like biiter quarelling husband and wife; apart, neither will ever be the same 100 piont players they could have continued to be in Vancouver. If only they'd accepted marriage counselling, while they still had a chance; but no. The trial separation didn't solve anything, and the subsequent divorce has left Petey clinically depressed, and the nine of the 6/40/9 Line heartbroken. And of course, the child, never a thought for the child, has left Boeser feeling torn and homeless… The custody battle will not be pretty. You can blame the In-Laws, you can blame the water, but it'll never be fair to blame it on Rio; Vegas, maybe, but… we'll never know that story, will we?

  9. Hey guy in the middle. We have been waiting for it to work. It’s been a year. It’s been every excuse. He never holds himself accountable. He has to be traded before the no trade clause. He playing bad on purpose to lower his trade value. He is more than happy to float in Vancouver for 8 years.

  10. Based on GAA and SV%, we didn't bring any of our best goalies. I get that stats aren't everything but not taking Thompson was dumb.

  11. I think Petterson can't handle pressure. When he didn't have this level of contract, he was ok … the pressure immediately went on, and the level of expectation from the org and the fan-base immediately ramped up and was in-line with the contract. If he didn't like Miller trying to get the best out of him, he buckled as he didn't like being identified and singled out. Even his own #1 fan (the GM) came out and called him out and said he needs to mature. The spotlight of the 4-nations was too much for him as well. He can't and won't ever be able to handle being the number one guy in a Canadian market, or Vancouver specifically. I think he needs to go to a team and market where he can just play; maybe on an almost-type contender team (Detroit or Pittsburgh etc.) While he stays in Vancouver, he won't be able to hack the spotlight. It's been proven and without Miller there's no excuses about the locker room rift. His post-Miller games for Vancouver weren't good and his diminishing ice-time and utter lack of production for Sweden again shows he's not up to it at the moment. And $11.6m isn't good for potential. You give that level of contract to a proven and consistent producer. He's had a single 100-point season and not reached 40 goals.
