Just a note: we used to catch flak for flying the 1920 banners in our barn. They are very distinctly the Barberpole and O banners, the modern franchise is absolutely not claiming those cups.
I've known many Sens fans that count them. I personally do not. 70 years between franchises, different league, different era, not at all related in my mind. I think the banner should be hung or displayed in the concourse, not the rink

I loved Guy Boucher and I think Melnyk didnhim dirty big time. I really think we could have gotten some sort of winning culture going if they renewed him for another 2 or 3 years. He took a very shitty sens team and made them competitive

I think teams are gonna have to take a long look at how bill guerin and judd bracket did this rebuild while staying competitive with 14.7 mill in dead cap. Theres a lot to be learned there for these teams that have had 10-15yr rebuilds, some r in thay 5-8yr range and still way off
Ottawa made too many mistakes in the rebuild. There isnt much left in the pipeline to make them a whole lot better in future seasons so any trades or signings they make HAVE to work out. There is just so little room for error.
Though born and raised in Toronto and being a Leafs fan it wasn't that hard to change allegiances when Ottawa got a team. That's where I was living then and the Leafs had been so horrible for so long (thank you Harold Ballard) that I gravitated towards the Senators. They're still my team and win or lose I love the franchise.

them moving back to ottawa was a dumb decision by the league. Especially since their expansion partners, the tampa bay lightning have found so much more success
