Started playing in the early 70’s and I am a Ducks fan. That being said, that was a Chicken $hit hit by Zegras. It was late and main contact was the head. I do think the league should look at the hit. The kid has talent but a lack of effort at times and questionable decisions on the ice.
This is why I hate the instigator rule. The players will police themselves. Zegras would have to answer for his cheap hit. Refs occasionally miss calls but none of the Red Wings did. Zegras would have to drop the mittens and take his lumps.
Hundred percent should be suspended that’s so greasy by Zegras

Two referees and they still don’t see these cheap shots, that being said you can’t rely on the referees. You have to protect yourself at all times.

I'm probably a little biased as a Wings fan, but that should have probably been a 5 minute major. Big Ras is significantly taller, so it's not like the head contact was incidental. It definitely looked like Zegras targeted him. And that's the kind of call that even the linesmen can make, so it's inexcusable that all 4 officials missed it. Zegras should be suspended and the stripes should get the same length suspension.

Agree the refs missed a lot. There were cheap shots all around in that game. But this wasn’t a one-sided affair. For example, are we just NOT gonna mention Chiarot punching Vatrano in the head AFTER the 2nd Period ended?!
