My comment in the chat went a bit sideways. I think my point was entirely missed by several. It was that it took Ovetchkin roughly 1,306 games to pass Gordie Howe's 801 goal record. However, Gretzky scored his 802nd goal in his 1,117th game. That's 189 games sooner or nearly three full seasons faster to that mark. Gretzky did it faster… to that mark. That was my point.
It's just a stat in the world of stats we now live in, and I got attacked for pointing it out.
