  1. Mike Richards had a HARD fall off, so getting rid of that contract would work out. We also got Braden Schenn and Wayne Simmonds from that trade. I say we won that trade. Voracek was an AMAZING asset, while Carter lasted a half a season in Columbus. Oh AND we got a first which became Sean Couturier too? Won that trade. The Bryzgalov deal sucked, sure, but Bob was definitely not developing here. Just look at how Steve Mason, Michal Neuvirth, and a couple others turned to shit due to being left out to die. Just look at McKenzie Blackwood in New Jersey as another example. It was a bunch of other moves and Chris Pronger having a career ending injury that ruined us. These transactions you mentioned were the few beneficial ones that Paul Holmgren made after 2011. Ron Hextall then came in and burned everything, while Chuck Fletcher (I hated that hire from day 1) threw magnesium into the fire. I love what Danny Briere is doing, and I can't wait for our future

  2. Wtf are you talking about, Richards became a fourth line center, they got a solid mid six center in schenn and an elite power forward back for him, then they got an elite two way center and an elite winger for carter. You're a clown

  3. They needed to get away from Richards, horrible move with Bob, Laviolette didn't like Bob, here we are 15 years later they are just almost rebuilding

  4. Here's a list of players from JUST THAT TEAM that went on to win a cup elsewhere shortly after leaving the Flyers:
    Richards- 2 cups
    Carter- 2 cups
    Carcillo- 2 cups
    Versteeg- 1 cup
    Timonen- 1 cup
    Bobrovsky- 1 cup
    Coburn- 1 cup
The Flyers front office has been criminally bad for too long
