People are going to be surprised at how good Jones will fit in Florida. He's a good PP scorer, hits and blocks more shots than Ekblad, is a smooth skater, and won't need to carry the load. He will age well, and at $7mil, his value is where it should've always been.
People hating on the trade just because of what his stats are with the hawks but dude was really the only "star" besdies a few. Brandon was horrible until florida traded for him. Jones now has an actual talented roster around him. There is a reason he could have gone #1 overall in his draft year.

As great as trade as this is, it's also necessary because Tkachuk might not play again this season. His date to return isn't just flexible, it's unknown by the staff and training team. They aren't sure to the extent of his return. He won't skate for at least 4 weeks.
