No goalie = No cup
We needed a defensively strong RD and a good R shot C. We got neither. This team will never make it out if the first round. For everyone lauding the GM here, remember today when McDavid signs somewhere else in 2026 and the team is miserable for another 10 years.
Great additions. With Frederick and Kane in the lineup, this team will be a much different team. Who cares about shiny new toys they hardly ever pan out.

I thought the moves were very well played and tactical. Just need current players to step up and play like they are actually capable. Bouchards blunders are really hard to ignore. Skinners netminding has been off for 2025 and McDavid himself seems to be struggling. But there's so many that can step up and make the difference….. and aren't
Good decision not to shake things up in the locker room, but Pleeeeease sir replace the Goalie coach! Obviously the guy we have had for the last decade isn’t working!
I dont have any problems with bowmans management at this point. Jeff Jackson wanted to play GM for a few weeks and completely cooked us for the deadline. I hope hes held accountable for it if we dont make another final
early exit coming up this year. its no coincidence we have a stacked team on paper and why they cant find success. many of these players will move and once again be top players. this all comes down to the goaltending. these players need to play a certain way to not allow any shots on skinner and finally we are in a season that every single player besides leon is totally burned out from playing this way. it takes so much out of the players to play that game every night in and night out. when 95% of the team is burned out from playing "their game" at once, this team has no success and its been that way as of late. imagine removing much of that energy and focus from bailing the goalie out to where they can go out and play free and play their own individual game within the team structure. maybe the team would lived up to how stacked on paper it is.
How can you expect evander Kane to be in playoff shape when he is healed he hasn’t seen the ice once this season
Wonder if the Oilers had discussions about Boston's Carlo before deciding on Walman? To sure up the back end, Ekholm-Carlo, Nurse-Kulak, Walman-Bouchard. Would go a long way in instilling confidence for me personally.
So not impressed!!!! I can rant all day. Won't do much good. He just punched our ticket. Early playoff fall this year. We don't have the guys between the posts that can stand up with the team at hand. Goaltending is way to weak for this level of play!!!! What a stupid gamble.

I think the additions are what this team needs. Now it's up to the rest of the team to get their game together.
I hate / love Marchand lol , but another great veteran, would have been awesome addition. Go Oilers.

Goaltending has been an issue for the last decade or more. Look at the last 10 Stanley cup winners. They all show they have a top 10 goalie. Sorry Stan but you must go.
Big mistake not bringing on a third goalie, twenty games left to do what, get better, not going to happen. Oilers out in the first round.
Since u want to "break it up"on statistics for Stuarr Skinner to make it look better you didn't get a goalie trade done…. Forget checking months of stretches stats. Just look at skinners record against playoff teams and against non playoff.
That's the true sign.
What kind of sucked is Colorado was able to swap out both goalies mid season and we couldnt swap one of ours.

Look Stan is a cup winning GM but we could have used another big defenseman and definitely a goalie as our two current ones Skinner, Pickard are not getting it done. Neither have some of our forwards. ALL WE ASK IS FOR A GOALIE TO WIN/steal A GAME FOR US and neither have done so. I like the Boston deals – great moves.Shark trade was awesome .Walmam is a great PP and PK defenseman-solid D. Walman from the Sharks was solid move. I will add that Nuge needs to get going. Same goes with Hyman. Both these 2 have disappeared. I’m surprised Arvidsson is still here. He’s done nothing. You figure Bouch is not worth $10 million dollars and should leave. I wonder if Trent Frederick can move up to Mcdavids line. He’s big and strong and tough open things up for McDavid. Draisaitl plays great with Jeff Skinner. I guess teams didn’t want to deal their goalies. mikko rantanen doesn’t have to pay taxes now he’s in Texas with Dallas. Shocker for me Marchand to Florida. What was Boston GM drinking. I would have liked Carlo of Boston but Toronto got him. I agree with most We need Grant Fuhr as goalie coach or Andy Moog. Kane is a puzzle there.
Without an upgrade at goalie the Oilers will not go far in the playoffs this year. Guess there's always next year.

Just cause the GM wants to make a trade doesn’t mean it magically happens otherwise there would be super teams in the league.
Rantanen still has not proved that he can play with out MacKinnon
Carlo would have cost the team too much

The Oil are in a slump but when the playoffs start the boys know what to do!!
What exactly has Bouchard done that has stood out this year? He’s down half as many points as last year and does not play defence in our own zone. Bowman is warning us they are going to pay him. And when you look at his career stats, he’s had one really great year points wise. We should not pay him more than 5 million per year.
I don’t mind the moves he wants to let this group give it another shot if they falter I can see Bowman putting his mark on this team in the off season where they will have more flexibility.
It’s hard to be too excited without a new goalie
The other Bowman watched Silent Sam light him upfor 8 points..then he followed the popcorn trail to Excaliber….no reason this Bowman cannot do the same thing…..he just needs to find the right Prince who can pull it from the stone…there can ONLY BE ONE….and the Bowmans know,its the price that Katz cannot afford to pay the Prince stopping the show….yes I said cannot afford to pay…. maybe a Layaway Plan is possible.
