  1. What is it with people in hockey? They can’t speak without aaaaaaah aaaaaaaam before every short sentence. It’s so annoying!

  2. We'll see how happy all you are with Brad and the team when the Leafs get knocked out first round again.
    Tb and Fla are stacked.

  3. If you can't beat Marchand and Tkachuk in the playoffs you probably aren't a Cup contender

  4. Was getting concerned seeing Tampa and Florida making all these moves and watching Leafs doing nothing…but these moves were decent ones not gonna lie 👏

  5. 2 yrs ago I would've been freaking out over this trade but the more time goes on with minten in regards to world jrs performance ahl statistics; the more I see him probably as a third line at best in nhl. I wouldn't mind being wrong as he seems like a good kid . But his numbers don't suggest top 6 in NHL

  6. I like Laughton for age over Schenn. I like Carlo but don't think this was how to build the team. I love they have term but think we overpaid.

Trading Marner in his first months as GM was completely open. We won a first round that we should've lost and lost first rounds and pre playoffs (Columbus) with a faster team that still couldn't score enough to win. Goaltending and defense hasn't been the problem. Only Willy has been consistently a play driver and productive even when sick (2023) or injured (last year) since 2018.

Overpaid again with no prospects or chance for future prospects. What faith should I have in our Leafs? Laughton was playing LW and is not a full time Centre until Phillie traded Frost. Conor Timmins and Liljegren are RHD who are good puck movers. Carlo isn't. He's big and defensive defenseman. Great. We can't score in the playoffs. We still don't have depth RHD. Liljegren is getting top pair mins in SJ. Benoit was good last year and trash this year.

Brad has old school ideas and won what in Calgary or here in Toronto?

I like that they have term but now we have less depth replacements but 15% retention for a great 6th-32nd (if we win cup its 32nd) overall pick in 2026, a 4th round pick and our 2nd best prospect when we have one of the worst propsect pools since the Big 3 graduated. Come on!

Boston beat us with one superstar forward and one superstar defenseman and a good defense. We have played middling crap all years and thats where we stand in every team stat (PK, PP, etc).

OEL has been better than Reilly and they work well together but Carlo is not a top pair player. Will OEL play right side with Benoit who should really be the 8th-10th defenseman?

  7. Glad we got the depth we truly needed. Shitty to see Minten and Grebenkin go but our time is now and over the next 4-5 years … those guys weren’t going to be in our top six so it’s best to move them for depth peices

  8. I gave Brad a chance but today I lost all hope in him today. Needed bigger upgrades and came out of it with only Carlo and Laughton. Very disappointing but excited for opening night in October for another chance at a cup in 2026.

  9. The facts are, it's been 10 years of deadline and new faces, the core 4 stay the same and have won a single round. Would anyone be surprised if they were knocked out again in the first round?
If they don't win a Cup will the team finally walk away from at least two of the contracts handcuffing this team?

  10. Great trades. Tree did well. And I like his consideration for the people that he traded away. Very sensitive to those situations and I like that about him a lot.

  11. The new players coming are ok. Massive overpay is a bigger problem and this is not the year to go all in. The Leafs are not Carlo and Laughton away from the Cup.

  12. Dubas never did this well, always picked up players at the young age of 38 +
Really excited to see Carlo in a leaf jersey the guys a beast

  13. What I like about Brads approach is you can tell he can see where the team really needs the help and he does his best to get what he can within his cap space and only lets players go if it lands him something he’s looking for.

  14. Great day for Tre imo. Minten tops out as a 3c, Grebenkin is a 4th liner. The 1st round picks wont actually be NHL ready players for another 4 or 5 years. Leafs got better, plain and simple.

  15. Great additions Brad. Leafs are solid down the middle. The addition of Carlo will hopefully help Reillys offensive game. Both players excellent penalty killers, takecsome of thebload off of marner. Hopefully he doesn't have to play 23 – 25 minutes each game.
Still great additions but it still comes down to how Matthews, Marner, Nylander and to a lesser degree Tavares acquit themselves in the playoffs.

  16. Tree, you have set this franchise back 10 years trading away the future trying to appease Matthews. Have you ever considered Matthews is the problem?

  17. I feel they overpaid for Laughton they could of got better value there in my opinion

  18. These are the kind of additions that should give the cour four confidence in the team and alleviate some of the pressure they put on themselves. They won't be pressures to think they need to score to make up for the bottom six not doing anything. Just my two cents.
