  1. This was supposed to be two trash teams were fighting for the right to get swept in the first round. Giroux came through as usual and the Flyers went on an unbelievable run all the way to game 6 of the Stanley Cup. They came back from a 3-0 series hole vs Boston and almost beat a loaded dynasty in the making. Giroux deserves his Cup. Go Panthers. I'm rooting for them harder than I've ever rooted for a hockey team that isn't the Flyers. I also wouldn't mind it if Bob won one. Florida is the best team in the league. That's usually bad news in the NHL playoffs but I like their chances. They've got too many good players to go into a long slump.

  2. Flyers beat the bruins 4-3 when down 0-3 to make it to the Stanley cup that season. I loved that year but to be closed down by the blackhawks

  3. The moment that started the Chicago Blackhawks dynasty. Who knows what happens if they don’t play Philly in the cup. Thanks guys!

  4. Was there with my brother. One of the best moments I can remember as a Flyers fan. And to think how far they've fallen over the past decade.

  5. I watched this with my gf at the time, who later went on to become my wife, who later went on to cheat on me with Jeff Carter

  6. it hurts so much that the most key guys for this shootout are gone. boosh might be in our booth next year, briere is the damn general manager, and giroux after 16 years in the organization (lmao) is gone

  7. Лучшая команда ,лучший год ,лучший капитан и неповторимый Бриер ,самый памятный плей-офф ,какой я когда либо видел ,а началось все с этого героического матча ,Let's go FLYERS!

  8. This game reminds much of the Blackhawks-Penguins game, it changed NHL history. If the Flyers lost this game, the Rangers would have had more points than the Flyers, and probably would've played the Caps, and the Habs would play the Devils. Would the Rangers upset the Capitals and humiliate them the way Halak did? Who knows. Nevermind the Flyers, no reverse sweep for them if they lost this game, as they would have been kept entirely out of the playoffs. Crazy how it works out, sometimes.

  9. Remember watching this at 8 years old I used to be the biggest die hard fan. Wasn't the same after they got rid of Carter and Mike in the same off-season

  10. Goddamnit………so dramatic. Back to life here….down 3-0 to boston.
All so I could watch them lose in the finals…so I could losein the finals…like I watched them lose in 76, and 80, and 85…. and 87 and 97….. Flyers i just turned 58.
I don't know how much longer I am going to be alive. My dad was an original season ticket holder……. when I was around 5 I sat on my dad's lap watching a game one day….the puck hit ed van impe in the mouth and smashed all his teeth out….his blood, and his teeth were all over the ice….they scraped that blood of the ice man……not long after he was out there skating around again……….like nothing goddamn happened…..and my mind was just…..bent….In that moment, my life's
ambition was to be so fuc@king tough that I could do just that….skate around playing hockey, getting my teeth smashed out, bleeding ALL over the ice and my jersey,
    and….acting like nothing happened……I'm going to just…..keep playing…..
cause hockey fu@king RULES…..now my knees are ruined…..my body is shot…..
guess i gotta give up the dream……….no nhl for me…..flyers…the clock is my enemy….please win a stanley cup before i die. Busch # 57
