  1. Could you imagine if Miller and Nabokov played with each other? That was a pipe dream from middle school. We would have had a great goaltending duo.

  2. Thank you Brodie!
I became a huge Ryan Miller fan when he and Pav were on team USA and won the silver medal. I imagine that result probably still stings Ryan and Pavs a little because they came very close to bringing home gold.

While Ryan was in the NHL after seeing him in the Olympics I really wished he was a Shark. Unfortunately Ryan never put on the teal but, I am ecstatic that he is working for us now and was completely blown away when his hiring was announced. This is a perfect expression of Mike Grier's focus on scouting, drafting and developing prospects and I am so glad Ryan is with us now. I hope he remains a Shark employee for a long time.

I know I sound like a broken record Brodie but, thank you so much again for yet another fun conversation with someone I have never heard talk yet really admire.

P.s. Good luck to you Ryan in everything you do and thank you for coming to San Jose! I love the South Bay connection story. That is crazy man!

  3. Goalies have a more difficult psychology to their game, and it takes special talent to not be afraid of pucks or constantly being targeted. NHL goalies have to be better puck handlers than ever before, and Askarov has this ability to add to power play and returning puck to offense. The other thing is goalies not hurting themselves with too much yoga saves. I am hoping to see Brent Burns back in a Sharks jersey next year so he can retire as a Shark and mentor the rookie defense in his last year in NHL. He just turned 40 years old and still can play like he is 25.

  4. Just another example of how bad the Sabres organization is in when the team he played for and is a member of their team HOF isn't working for them.
