Ace, for real, you should Al do this more often. Once or twice a month in the future IMHO. I know schedules are tight, but I listen to the four of you like everyday. It’s like when my home friends met my college friends and it turned out they could party together like it was the apocalypse. Tons of fun hearing you bounce ideas off one another.
They had next year’s 1st, plenty of draft picks, And Nemec would be fine for Ryan O’Reilly, that’s an example. Punting on the season is such a loser mentality. This franchise has punted two years in a row. Fitz makes problems and when he fixes them everyone throws roses when he fixes them. No excuse not making moves sooner. Fitz SUCKS!

I'm with you on Fitz. I gave him the benefit of the doubt because he had a good offseason and the team had a great start. Jack's injury gives him a pass to some degree but he had to do something before the injury, and even more so after. The ONE goal I had all along was: make the playoffs. That's it. It's one thing to have a wire-to-wire mediocre season, like last year. If we miss the playoffs, this would count as a collapse. Not acceptable.

I get it, we're all fans here and we want our team to win it all, but I think somebody laced Ace's Dirty Devil Vodka, lol.
We have to come to grips about our chances of making the playoffs, especially without Jack, let alone making any kind of deep run. Maybe that makes me a bad fan but I'm trying to be as realistic and objective as possible.
It sucks to say but we simply don't match up well against Tampa, Toronto has our number and it'd be a short series against Carolina and not in a good way. I think we could actually take Washington but even that takes a hit without Jack.
If they had played as well over their past 30 games as they had played over their first 35 or so and had managed to stay healthy, they could've been a threat this spring. Tough break.
This team also needs roster upgrades, not only in the bottom six but in the top six as well. Having Noesen or Palat up there on a regular basis puts us at a severe disadvantage, especially when you look at what Florida, and Tampa roll out every night.
Hamilton, Seigs, Palat all have 10 team no trades kicking in July 1st and Haula has 6 team no trade. Haula and Palat should be gone 100%, if Hamilton can be moved for forward help I'd be ok with relying on Luke and Nemec/Casey to grow into the offense roles. I'm not fully ready to write Mercer off but what kind of return could a Mercer/Hamilton package get the team? Lucas Raymond? Det might want to shake up their roster since they don't look like they'll make it. Jason Robertson? Dal was supposedly in on Seth Jones so Dougie might peak their interest. Quinton Byfield in LA? Long shot of Brady for the Sens, Matthew Boldy from Minny or Matthew Barzal if Lou's replacement wants to get frisky with a rebuild/mix up?
Tatar, Bastian, Dowling don't deserve to be resigned and Lazar and Sprong probably fall into that as well but we'll see how they finish the season and maybe able to earn themselves a deal.
Gritsyuk is 21st in KHL scoring PPG, 51st in actual scoring (he missed 15ish game due to injury, he's 6th on his team 2nd in PPG), Hameenaho is 15th in Liiga scoring (2nd on his team), leading his team in goals and 11th league wide. Would be ok with both of them coming in as 2nd/3rd liners for next year leaving two/three forward spots needing to be filled.

Why are all these guys backing up Fitz. Fitz is clown and 100% needs to be shown the door if we miss the playoffs. He did nothing on deadline day and now we will probably suffer and miss the playoffs or be an early exit if we make it.
Interesting to point out with Palaat – He played most of his time with Kuch and Point on the first line of the 2021 – 2022 season (cup winning)
Very enjoyable, great discussion. I must however completely disagree with Treys take on Mac. He makes a difference and needs to be in tonight. Olivier is easily the best pound for pound fighter in the league. Gotta have your enforcer in against a team with Olivier who’s fighting for their lives for a playoff spot. LGD

Daniel though, terrible comment on physicality. Speed is important but hockey is a brutal game and physicality is the most important factor period. Dont care how fast you are if I line you up and smash you all game you won’t succeed. Just look at Jack as your best example. Florida is the blueprint. Need to add some more agitators and fighters always.
