@Blackhawks de Chicago

#blackhawks #hockey #nhlhistory #nhl #chicagoblackhawks #coreycrawford

  1. Criw is the most under appreciated goalie in Blackhawks history. Maybe even NHL history. But his stats are up there with Elite goaltenders. In the 2015 SCF, when Tampa fans would complain about Ben Bishop. I would tell them Bishop isn't the problem Tampa isn't winning, Corey Crawford is why Tampa isn't winning.

  2. Those were the days! ❤ Too bad Hawks are finished forever! Entering NHL Hell with no way to get out. God I miss Corey!!!

  3. Crawford was brilliant goalie with fundamentals but his biggest issue was always his glove. It got better by the end, but the common thought around everyone who covered the Hawks, especially in the '13 playoffs was, Crawford is a good goalie who struggles to catch the puck. A lot of the pre 2010 fans saw it in his brief stints up here and if they happened to catch a Rockford game and I think that stuck with fans for his whole career.

  4. A half hour video about my favorite goalie ever that got mad slander for no reason?! Hell yes. Give crow the respect he deserves

  5. I am not a hawks fan but man those that say crow was "carried" or was "lucky to have great defense in front of him and anyone could do good with them in front of him" is a moron. Obviously that team in front of him for the most part yes was stellar and he benefitted a lot from them but there were also times where Crow also bailed them out to say the least. Crow was such a badass in both regular season and playoffs and there were plenty of times where he kept the blackhawks in games they had very little business being in. When you look at that entire 2010-2011 season where the blackhawks, the defending champs at the time barely made playoffs it showed how much he meant to keeping them afloat and how while the blackhawks slaughtered the canucks in game 4 and 5 of that first round series, in games 1,2,3,6 and 7 of that series it was crow who did 99% of the work to keep the hawks afloat and limit the canucks scoring, coming just 1 goal short of a reverse sweep, which would've been the biggest upset of all professional sports had that overtime period of game 7 ended differently. That 2013 cup run too what a time especially in the final against Boston. That 2015-2016 season i think it was ridiculous he wasn't named to the all star game with rinne instead of dubnyk even though dubnyk was great that year and i thought crow should've been a vezina finalist that year. We all knew Holtby was gonna win it and we all knew Big Ben was gonna be a finalist but I think about while Quickie had a dope 2015-2016 season, I kind of feel like Crow should've been the third finalist and it was baffling he got only 14 votes. I also think about how during the 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 seasons the hawks as a team were very inconsistent but most of the games they lost were close games and it was all thanks to crawford if you watch highlights. That 2020 playoff too they weren't even supposed to be in it and only did cause of the playoff format expansion and yah crow basically single handedly won that qualifying round series against the oilers a team that would've went to the playoffs regardless if the 2019-2020 regular season ended properly or not cause if it wasn't for him, the oilers would've swept the hawks easily. And ofc they lost in 5 but the fact they actually won 1 game was a miracle. We knew that crow didn't have much time left but it would've been nice if the hawks had signed him for just 1 more year for maybe $4.5 -5 million ish rather than let him walk and the devils sign but then he retires at the last minute since he was still playing at a high level (even though his time and longevity generally was winding down) and so the covid 2020-2021 year could've been a little more enjoyable as he could've played a good 20-25 of those 56 games and win around 15 of them. The hawks still would've missed the playoffs due to their awful defense and depth that year but he would've at least given them a decent chance and they prolly would've only missed by maybe 3 points in the standings rather than 9-10 points like they did then he would retire a bit more peacefully in the spring of 2021 once the shortened season ended without signing a deal with a different team then retiring before even suiting up for that so called team. Sorry for long ramble lol just lots to dissect about Crow.

  6. Crawford was excellent and his career was delayed by a year due to Niemi’s ascent and then Chicago tried Turco for a season before Corey was deemed ready.

But as a Hawks fan from 2004-2021 my memory’s pretty strong: the D led by Keith-Seabrook and Hjalmarsson-Oduya would’ve made any goalie’s night easier quite often. Cristobal Huet had a 2.50 GAA despite a save % of 89.5 the year Niemi had to take over for him.

  7. He better get that 50 in the rafters, as the Hawks "Rebuild" got me to hate what I called my favorite team. Crow, Seabrook, Toews, Kane, Keith, Hjarmilson, Hossa. All big names that a "Rebuild" would reject when if your team is going to be young players, you may need skilled players to mentor them

  8. 3:24 giving up TWO Ed Belfours for Dhalen, Sykora, and Terreri was one of the worst trades of all time 😊

  9. Hands down the best video essay I’ve seen.

Crawford is why I became a goalie and literally my idol.

  10. Rick Ball does a good job; but good lord Pat Foley retiring was like when WWE parted ways with Jim Ross. Foley IS THE voice of the Chicago Blackhawks

  11. Crawford literally got better with each season up until the last 2 seasons. Such an underrated goalie around the league. Now the Hawks got Spencer Knight who is easily the best goalie that the Hawks have had since Crawford.

  12. It was nice to hear the casting of pat foley once again. One of the greats of casting

  13. Crow was a beauty, he came out during that 3 of 3 series vs Vancouver, Turco couldnt go anymore and Crow went hard

  14. Did you say Tim Thomas had his peak in his late 20's ?! Lol he was notoriously a late bloomer

  15. Lol no, Niemi and Crawford were average. That was when you didnt need a top goalie to win since it saved cap space

  16. Of course every good goaltender needs good defenseman, something the Blackhawk’s struggle with today…

  17. Cory Crawford is NOT even close to being an elite goaltender . People turn this garbage off this 🤡 has no clue about hockey

  18. Crawford was probably the most underrated goalie, I always hated the narrative he was carried by a good team

  19. Fuck the blackhawks, but crawfish was why they were good, dad and me used to get so mad when the tv people would act so suspicious of his skills even after he win two cups and an nhl goalie, even a bad one is better than 90% of everybody else. Thats how small the league is even at 30+ teams.

  20. Love the Crow he was so much more valuable than people give him credit for due to our unreal defensive core. Do admit his sometimes weak glove hand but when the Crow was on he was Veizna worthy.

  21. Thank you for this. Nailed it right in the head. Crow never got a fair shake, the stupid glove hand narrative following him throughout his career. If you warched him every night you know those Hawks teams weren't the same wirhout him. That vaunted team in front of him could go cold for a week at a time, including in the playoffs, and Crow woild pick them up. The true 2013 Calder.
