I am no longer upset, or disappointed in this team anymore. Because their players don’t care enough to win. For example Marner and Tavares want to remain Leafs, but guess what they never get in the dirty areas to score. They are afraid to take a hit and give a hit. O heart, passion, and no desire to win. But it is unbelievable how not only does Marner and Tavares want to remain a Leaf, but show no passion at all when wearing it. Like Marner bitching on the bench against Boston in the playoffs when the game got tough. Also, like when Marchand hurt Liljegren and he was out with an injury. When Tavares was captain what did he do, he sat on the bench and never stood up off the bench and yelled at Marchand for hurting his teammate. It goes to show not only do those two want an extension but they never stick up for their teammates, or show any heart wearing the Leafs jersey. But say how honoured they are to be a leaf, and want to stay here. But never show it on the ice.

What’s the adversity Morgan? Starting on time and competing for 60 minutes? Being consistently soft defensively in your own end? Explaining to the media why your overpaid core consistently under performs when the hockey tightens up in the Spring. Time for Leafs brass to make Cap room and change the dressing room level of compete. Get rid of Shanahan and address the Cap room before the playoffs.

I am as disappointed as all the Leaf fans, but guys, there are 30 teams and at least eight or nine can easily win the cup with a few breaks here and there. Teams have won the Stanley Cup with different styles of play. Yes, you have to lay everything out on the line and I think most of us think that not all the Leaf players do that. You still need some key breaks here and there is some key games with excellent goaltending and defending extremely hard. Hopefully most of us that don't give the Maple Leafs a chance this year, get a huge great surprise!
The whole team needs to tighten up at both ends of the ice I think they all know that if you don’t produce and get past the second round there will be massive changes

If we are out early again this year , Shanahan needs to get fired . We need to get rid of Reilly and get a top 4 d who can produce . Leafs are dead last for points from there D. Kampf can go , get a scizzons or some else else on the 4 C. Sign marner , JT, and knies. Try and get a Bennet or someone who can play with JT and Willy .
If Matthews’s isn’t back to himself next year , I’d really consider on moving him. Think what you can get for him ? Trade him to Utah for Keller and sergachev and couple first round picks????

As a life long leaf fan since 1963. I have never let myself think that maybe this is the year. I have become knowledgeable about heart and will in athletes and the lack there of. This leaf team is locked up with large contracts. The management has there hands tied until this summer. Trevling has done some good things but his true test as a GM will be this summer. There are opportunities out there.
How much worse does Rielly have to be to sit in the pressbox?

8+ Years and they talk the talk BUT don’t Walk the Walk. Over this time they haven’t absorbed anything about WHAT it takes to WIN when it really counts and the chips are down.

The only thing seperating TML from being the best team in the league is ego self identity of each player cannot outweigh the teams priority.
An expectation at that elite level of sport is to be your healthiest off the ice so when your on the ice you can minimize if not make absolutely 0 mistakes.
Each player must lose their ego, by praying to do whatever it takes to play flawlessly, i reiterate 0 mistakes.
Best teams lose to the worst teams based on this principle.
We cannot allow luck yo determine our fate, this isnt a casino, we have to have faith and willingness to do whatever it takes even if that means abstinence, teetotalism, meditating even off the ice, not allowing temptations to distract us like video games, because every moment can be manifested into an increase of performance, but not if we're eating junk food, watching television and God knows what else.
Time to prove we deserve the cup more than any other team…. Or not.
When we got Berube I thought one of the critical reasons was to hold these guys accountable. I have yet to here him call out any guys all year . “ it was a tight close game “ seems to be his answer . Yes maybe these last few games come down to one goal , but it’s not as close as the scoresheet reads . Leafs have been out played , out hustled , they had 12 shots in first two periods against Ottawa . Not good enough and it’s not close , start calling these guys out Craig .
Blah blah blah. Excuses. We’ll either be surprised or confirm what most already know and expect about this team when the playoffs hit.

Dealing with adversity at the home stretch of the playoffs with the division on the line sounds more like choking as usual. This core group has been around long enough that skids like this become less acceptable every year.
