This version may well be different than in the past. They are basically the Canes with better goaltending. Unfortunately for them, they don't have any game-breakers which, when you're deep, maybe you don't need that but we've seen deep teams without superstars not be terribly effective in the playoffs. Also, that world-class goaltending has failed them in the past so there is going to be question until Helly proves he can be the same guy in the playoffs that he is in the regular season. It is entirely possible this team is a lot like the 2012 Kings even if they don't have a Kopitar or Doughty (although Morrissey seems to be a reasonable facsimile offensively at least) but with even more offensive pop. But they have to prove it come mid-April and that's why they aren't getting any love: they've been here before only to see their bubble burst. We'll see what happens.
The Jets have proven to be the dominant team in the West. The fact they get dismissed by Vegas betting lines only shows the obvious miscalculation of people who don't understand the sport or simplily people betting on the home team within larger markets.

A great breakdown of their game which has worked well in regular season. This does not always translate to playoffs. The team that had the most points has won the Stanley Cup 8 times in the past 36 years. Does the best team win a presidents trophy or the Stanley Cup ?

I love this breakdown but one huge piece you missed is past deamons. People like to think that they dont mean anything but year after year we see powerhouse regular teams get dominated by stronger teams that beat the breaks off them and they look like a completely different team. Or on a 7 game series they find a weakness that the Jets are not able to fix in 2 or 3 games. Regular season success only gives you a home ice advantage. Until they prove themselves in the playoffs just like the leafs regular season success means nothing if you cant convert in the playoffs.
