@Devils du New Jersey

#nhl #hockey #Highlights #NewJerseyDevils #ottawasenators

  1. Sabres are done dood. It’s over for another 5 years and probably continue with the owner. It’s a shame and now becomes disgusting. Where do you go from here? Another rebuild with endless excuses? Idk but my heart aches and it’s becoming something of negative bc the owner sucks. I don’t watch football don’t care about the Bills other than giving life to Buffalo.

  2. In today’s NHL like it or not, you simply cannot throw players under the bus like that. Things get amplified and thrown out of proportion, and it’s not good for anyone.

  3. Here in the UK when a football coach starts naming + shaming an individual player in the press however he played in the game it's usually perceived as the beginning of the end for that coach. Terms such as "lost the dressing room" start being leaked. The best coaches never ever throw players to the Wolves as it almost always ends badly & quite soon!

  4. I'm not sure he's twisting the words. Player said "We are in a fight and hopefully it gets us in the playoffs mentality". The reporter reported that the player said "The team needs to have the playoffs mentality". It feels the same to me, just different words? The "hopefully" is the only distinction I can find, but it would have made it worst, no? I mean, it sounds like a pessimistic way of saying the team needs to transition to playoffs mentality.

  5. Keefe is a player's coach and he's respectful of his players. That doesn't mean he's perfect and he may say some things when in a bad mood that he may come to regret later. That doesn't make him a bad person; it makes him human. And I'm not even making a judgement on whether what he said was right or wrong. I don't know the entire context. Calling out a player for bad performance may be harsh, but is no way denigrating or disrespectful. Keefe may be wrong but again, I don't know the whole story.

  6. If you can’t control your filter in front of the media, you shouldn’t be in a job that requires you to do that. End of story.

  7. one of the problems with advanced stats. I don't care how good they look on paper, turning the puck over in front of your own net resulting in a goal is going to drive any coach crazy.

  8. I don’t get it kovacevic called out his teammates and he got called out, what’s the problem?😂 I’d rather my coach be honest.

  9. About time. Keefe's been way too mild-mannered all season long as the team keeps making dumb, costly plays. Glad to see a little fire from the coach. And this was not a big deal. Kovy, and everyone else on this team, needs to play better.

  10. Saying a player needs to play better shouldnt be controversial. The last 2 devils losses have been embarrassing. If the coach didnt say what he did people would say he's too soft. Of course its better behind closed doors but he responded to a question.

  11. keefe's response to an overall nothing burger of a question was just oddly hostile for no reason – the way the room fell so silent was embarrassing 😭😭😭 idk felt really dramatic for the question. it was catty and just… like weirdly high school – not something i think a good coach would say

  12. Good. Sometimes the players need to hear it. If youre playing like shit…then you need to be told that. Hes not the only player on the team that needs to hear it

Pretty much everyone besides allen, hischier and bratt

  13. Nothing to see here, I agree with Keefe. Time to find other hockey YouTube channels that aren't garbage "drama" channels.

  14. Not a fan of this kind of conduct from a coach. You can be critical publicly, that's fine, and fairly standard in the NHL. But Keefe cutting off a reporter mid sentence to cast blame on one guy on the team without further explanation and then abruptly ending the press conference is so unprofessional. If the issue is the bad penalty, just say "he can't take a penalty like that in that moment" or something to that effect.

What Keefe did looks like a tantrum to me. It embarrasses the player. Heat of the moment or not, I absolutely wouldn't want to play for a coach who doesn't have my back. Just a really awful moment for Keefe.

  15. Funny how teams and coaches always say: this isn't meant for the media, we deal with this internally.

Quickest way for a coach/GM/whatever to loose his team is doing what this dude just did.
Guess he was listening to too much Elon kately

  16. Should be use to that having coached Morgan Rielly for 8 years . Oh guy you and your analytics'. Analytics' don't coun t constant pressure giveaways or not showing any game. They only share half of what is going on.

  17. Keefe is such a shit coach, i have no idea what NHL franchises see in him.

He is incapable of alternating his line up for the team or situation hes facing, and one of the worst media people ive seen in sports, hes in way way over his head.

  18. Kovacevich has been a great surprise addition this year, but yes, exactly those things you've highlighted.. If he can clean that up, he can be one of the Devils' best defensemen.

  19. Its amazing that players say anything to reporters, the amount of times they misquote or paraphrase them just to get reaction out of a coach and a sound bite for the news. It's also amazing the amount of times coaches take the bait!

  20. Where keefe goes wrong for me was when he apologized at going at his big guys in a fair statement. Any coach that goes back on his word then pulls something like on a depth defenseman is a fraud in my eyes. Can’t wait for my Canes to play them round 1.

  21. this is the kind of shit Keefe sort of would say or would want to say in Toronto, but Shanahan had a muzzle on him. when he did say anything about the core guys he’d walk it back the next day.

    he’s a fiery coach

  22. Keefe is really beefing up – hasn’t anyone showed him where the gym is at the rink.
