Normally, I would answer the Leafs would want to play the Senators in the first round. This year, however, FLA has too many key injury/suspension issues to deal with so may be playing FLA won't be so bad for the Leafs.
Leafs can't even defeat the big bad San Jose Sharks…

They absolutely should not went to face my Sens, that’s absolute garbage. Ottawa are 100% in their heads after the regular season series. The Sens are fast, upbeat, play with a ton of energy and have an elite goaltender.
Florida are incredibly banged up. Tkachuk will return and be rusty after missing 2 months. Ekblad would miss the first two games and also be rusty after missing 20 games. Bennett is banged up right now and will miss the rest of the regular season. Barkov was just banged up and missed a week. Bobrovsky has shown some cracks in his game lately.
Ottawa would be massive trouble for Toronto. That’s just a fact.

Do these idiots at TSN not know by now? It has nothing to do with WHO they play, it's THEMSELVES who they're playing in the first round. You could put this team against the Blackhawks or Sharks in the 1st round and they'd struggle to win/lose. They've brought in some good pieces to change that in Tanev, OEL and Stolarz, but the core has to take their first round series by the balls and just dominate. The opponent they play is irrelevant, it's their own heads that they need to beat.
