Jay makes some great points. If we can get Bennett and Boeser they can be two pieces that can get Bedard the players he needs to gain space and then get Karill the next season for the ultimate shooter. With that said I love Marner. I think being out of the Totonto spotlight will be the best thing for him.

Marner plays both the powerplay and penalty kill. In my opinion that is more valuable from a star player.

Try and sign Marner in free agency and trade for Kaprisov as they have the pieces to get it done. Need a bonafide goal scorer and they cant afford to be at the bottom of the league 4 years in a row. It’s time to make a jump and get going. I understand the excitement for the young guys but not all of them are going to be top end NHL players

Marner scares me. We could ruin this rebuild if we sign him to the 14+ million deal. At least if we wait it also could give us a shot at McKenna.

Neither of them are leaving but Marner has the best chance of leaving. He also is a spoiled child and I’m sure he will ask for like $15M per year
Draft Misa, offer sheet J J. Perterka would cost a 1st and a 3rd. Offer sheet Maverick Bourque would cost you a 2nd.
Matthew Knies would cost a 1st,2nd,and 3rd. These are better options for the long run.
They can get who ever they want they have a boat load of money available
