I could not disagree more about our third D pairing. Metrics aside don’t matter compared to what we actually see. Absolutely nobody is replacing Matinpalo. If you think for a second Hamonic should be a replacement I’d be absolutely appalled. That’s a complete joke to think about. It’s seriously not even a thought of concern. Matinpalo is our guy. What a silly thing to debate. Hamonic swims on the ice, has no strength, zero confidence in his game, cannot make a play to save his life, always out of position, I could go on. He always shoots the puck when his D partner passes to him in the offensive zone when he literally has the worst chance to score on the entire team. His only breakout pass is to the far blue line so someone can tip it in. You’re looking at stats too much Wally. Matinpalo makes plays, he carries the puck, takes chances, and he’s a young big guy that can skate very well and is actually tough to play against. I would shed tears of joy as a forward on a rush with Hamonic in my way, I seriously can’t believe you have that much concern for Matinpalo. For the record I would choose Gilbert over Hammer. Bigger, obviously more physical and lays the body, and has more drive than Hammer. And so too as if you just point out the one dumbfounded play by Hammer last night when he passed it right to the tape of the other team for the best third assist of his career.. try referencing every other time he steps onto the ice ffs. What about literally the game before when, despite Forsey’s obvious terrible game, the first goal was Hammer chasing the puck carrier to the boards ACROSS the ice putting himself entirely out of position, which then carrier simply lays it off to the open man with speed and having Crookshank of all people cover Hammer on D who undoubtedly has no idea what to do, and allows Chicago to get the easiest open-slot shot off. Like literally everything Wally, every damn decision Hammer makes is an absolute joke. You’re worrying for literally nothing. Matinpalo is the only obvious choice. Also how tf did you mess up the D pairings? Obviously Sanderson is paired with Zub and Chabot with Jensen.

Hamonic on god has literally not played well a game this season. I watch every game intently and he’s so god awful at the game of hockey. This has gotten me so livid the fact that’s it’s a question who the third pairing is. What a waste of time to concern ourselves with. Matinpalo without question.
