Leafs are much healthier this year than last year. Matthews, Nylander and Marner were all injured or sick . Goaltending is better this year and the defence has been greatly improved.

I think I'd rather have Ilya Lyubushkin over Ekman-Larsson at this point in their careers, and being right handed over left. But otherwise it is for sure better.
It's all about countering the limited space, Leafs need to make decisions faster in the playoffs.
