How good this team is next year really depends on how these young players perform. McGroarty, Kouvinen, Blomquist, Pickering will all likely be in the NHL next year.

DK as somebody who watches all three of the daily shots and the teams pretty much every game I bet Kyle dubas is a breath of fresh air compared to Ben and those non-competitive people on Federal Street

DK…I appreciate you and enjoy listening to you, I do every day. I do because I think you have good takes…..however I will die on this hill with Dubas, and my conviction only grows by the day. I said to you yesterday he sounded like a politician….a politician says all the right things to make you feel good about what he says…but their action often times says otherwise……Dubas' actions have NEVER matched up to his speech…to his plan or his execution….Washington has 3 players on their roster, who were drafted by them and in their lineup; protas, mcmichael, fehervary…..the rest, 8+ were free agent signings and trades for vets….guys that the pens passed a flyer on. The Caps got Chychryn (a guy Sully loves apparently) for nothing. I'm not saying all their guys are great signings….what I'm trying to say is that it wasn't done through the draft…the draft aided it…..I'll give Dubas that he does a half descent job in the draft in his track record. The penguins chance of winning in the next decade is with Sid, you don't win in this league (St. Louis being the exception) without a top end talented player. He says that is what he is doing…it isn't going that way. Koivonen was a good get…but there were better options in Carolina….I think you are having rose coloured glasses with him….just as much as someone can say I am brown coloured glasses.
If this team has jarry and karlsson on the roster next season they’ve already lost. Cut your losses now and let’s move forward.

The Pittsburgh Penguins sadly to say won't contend as long as dubus continues to turn them into the Toronto Maple Leafs. Meaning getting former Maple Leaf players to come to Pittsburgh that may not be the right fit
The difference is the Caps let their old stars go unlike the Pens. Now, I'm interested in what role 71 plays next year. I can't listen to Sully preach defensive responsibility for the young guys but continue to let him be the 2C. Reduced minutes, PP2, potentially limited C minutes and more time at winger
At least he is being honest and that's a good start. Getting some new young starters, I believe that's what the team needs to do to. . an extent, They still need to learn at the NHL level. That's what takes time. Thank you DK
