I'm getting serious 2019 deja vu with the Lightning. Yes, they didn't win the President's Trophy or have a historic season. But they had home ice advantage in the 1st round, Vasy played the regular season at Vezina-caliber, and almost every analyst had Tampa pegged to win this series with a good chunk of those having Tampa pegged to win the East entirely. And then their big guns simply vanish as soon as the playoffs start. Kucherov looks mentally checked-out already. And I've NEVER seen him get it back once that happens. I have a serious gut feeling these next 2 games get UGLY for Tampa. Hopefully our guys continue to show no mercy and prove me right!
I hadn't heard any lightning fans being nasty about Barkov, but went to their reddit and they are claiming Panthers are planning to "pay back" the Lightning and lack class. Also, we are apparently fair weather fans lol.
Love seeing all the fans shocked at how things are turned upside down during the playoffs. I stopped watching regular season hockey because the stakes are so low and it's a whole different sport. Stanley Cup Playoffs are just the perfect gauntlet and nothing else comes close.
