В первом периоде Даллас был хорош, и имел моменты для взятия ворот, тем более что игроки Колорадо часто удалялись. Но где-то не повезло, где-то Блэквуд выручил. А потом в меньшинстве О'Коннор в силовой борьбе выцарапал шайбу, убежал к воротам Оттинджера и забил очень нужную шайбу. А в самой концовке периода уже Маккиннон положил вантаймер в большинстве. Во втором и третьем периодах игра раскрылась и Колорадо получил возможность играть в свой скоростной, вертикальный хоккей, в котором ему нет равных. Ключ к победе в серии над Далласом именно в таком стиле, важно первыми забить 1-2 шайбы, дождаться, когда "старз" начнут идти вперед и раскрываться, и тогда жалить их стремительными контратаками, благо технарей и катальщиков в "эвеланш" предостаточно.
