This is the most stupid decision. He was a great coach. Believed in grit and hard work. He gave our organization their identity. At first I didn’t like the michkov benching but I realized it was best for them. I mean you can’t blame him for us losing every game if our defenseman suck and are always in the wrong spot and our goalies can’t stop crap. These guys are getting paid millions let’s stop babying them
It's not Tort's fault that the team is in the straits it's in. He's been a good teacher for this team that throughout his tenure has been woefully stripped of talent. Half this team are barely bottom 6 guys.

This move makes it seem like Torts wanted to start the BUILDING part of the rebuild and the other triumvirate parties are not ready yet!
I feel like Torts when he said he is not interested in coaching a team in this situation and I as a FAN am NOT interested in continuing being a FAN for this 💩 of a team Briere and Jones have assembled!
I appreciate Torts honesty and not Briere management double talk and Jones hiding from the whole thing!

Very good coach to teach young players the ropes and discipline. Nothing but best wishes. I hope he joins the front office to keep a culture in place. Shaw can be an excellent coach as he was the bridge between the players and Torts. There is already a huge trust relationship built with Shaw.

This orginization is really screwed ! The coach of any team is only as good as his team and the history here is when the going gets tough the weak fire the coach! Torts didn't cause this diabolical Homgren did getting that nut case goalie Bradscolif (bad spelling I know). Then getting rid of an outstanding rookie Bob Bobbroski because the starter was jealous should have manned up and keep Bob! Then after he blew the cap fires Hextall because hex manned up and wouldn't fire a good coach. Then hired Fletcher who has a history of just hiring his free agent pals and putting a wrecking ball to the teams prospects with worthless treads .I wonder why any coach would waste 2 years of his life trying to make a difference only to get fired!
To add to my comment the shelf life of a flyers coach is 2 years then they get the boot Thought Danny would be stable which leads me to wonder who is really running the team Bobby Clark still or Holmgren seems like its not Danny still doing the same old thing and looking for different results! That's truly insanity at its worst!

man we finally had a coach, and then we get players that dont even wanna play the fucking game, im done with the flyers, you cant side with players when they are refusing to play at their highest level. its such a shame. trade everyone lol

He's a great coach…but I'm glad he's gone..it was time..he can go his way and the flyers can go theres..I think this is the best for John and the flyers..
