What a goalie battle!! Thompson was dialed in and on it, all night, and Dobes did EVERYTHING in his power to help the Canadiens prevail! Especially considering this is his first playoff exposure – he did a phenomenal job! Great series!

Canadiens had no business being in the playoffs. They were the 17th seed in the league. Calgary was the 15th seed and missed the playoffs. I wish the NHL would go back to the 1vs16 format from the early 80s.

Montreal had an amazing season.. hanging tough… making it into the first round… winning a game and holding their heads high. Ovi may very well have the opportunity to hoist the Stanley Cup. As one of the best teams during the regular season, the Caps will be tough to beat, regardless of which team gets to meet them.
The Canadiens had a very good season despite losing in the first round! The Canadiens not only had to play a very good Caps team, they had to play against the refs too! Example, last night Arber Xhekaj pushed a Cap player after the whistle and the ref went over to him and literally screamed at him for simply pushing an opposing player! It's no wonder there was no fight between Xhekaj and Whiner Wilson! The refs would have thrown the book at Xhekaj!
It's not sour grapes, the Caps won because they put the puck in the net while the Canadiens did not! Plain and simple! The Canadiens ran into a hot goaltender!
I have seen similar issues of poor officiating in the other series as well!
The refs in every series game I have watched, which is most of them, have made glaring errors! The poor officiating has led to a very lack luster playoffs so far! It seems like the players are playing like a bull in a china shop and have to pay for any damages and the fans have rarely heard even a tinkle of broken crystal!
In the games I have watched, some games have even been boring from the lack of playoff physical hockey!

I applaud this sentiment of anti french hockey … it serves to show my hatred towards them and it serves to show the fact that the rangers dealt with this team with a mediocre team and with lot of heart and attack that dealt with the caps better. i am glad the habs are gone total m rde culture.

Honestly Montreal only got into the playoffs because the rest of the teams in the division crapped the bed and handed the spot to them. Montreal was by far the weakest team in the playoffs. I just can’t see them making the playoffs next year they are still so inconsistent on the back end it’s like watching a bottom six team. Hopefully they can figure it out. They have been rebuilding forever so hopefully soon something comes from it.
