PLEASE KEEP Malhotra in Abby, if he's doing well and succeeding there; why move him, without significant pro head-coaching experience, and possibly ruin the situation in both teams? Let him mature in his job there, and look at bringing him up in a few years.
priority is to take away the trade draft picks ability from this management group, if the ownership could interfere I'd want them to step in there and say hey guys no more 1st round picks going away for suspect players….
Still HATE the Hronek trade. We should have had both Willander AND Sandin-Pellikka and then is we lose Hughes we still have 2 great young D – men to soften the blow. Them and Hunter Brzustewicz, Sawyer Mynio and maybe even an Aiden Celebrini who made big strides in Boston this year. could have cleaned up on that draft and stocked up the cupboard for years ! All those guys and D-Petey could have a whole set of guys on D all home grown all cheap on the Cap for the next 3 to 5 years.

Lets not pretend like keeping Tocchet would have solved this issue with results like this past season. I don't care how much Hughes would've loved Tocchet, another season of this train wreck he would be leaving for NJ anyway.

Benning assembled a good team in the bubble playoffs – Horvat, Miller, Petterson and Sutter in the middle; Markstrom and Demko in net – Quinn Hughes had a brilliant playoff and they had depth, but the lack of coaching experience and choosing a style of play that was so passive cost them a long playoff run! If it's a rookie or experienced coach, a balanced game that's played with an attacking style equally well offensively and defensively is critical to success in the playoffs. Too much focus on a defensive system (Tocchet and Foote) usually means that your team plays without the puck a lot, it taxes your defense and your goalies and your players never feel they have momentum!

Geez, Jeff. Get off the bandwagon please. Nobody caters to EP40 OR Hughes. They are there to perform and win and will do so UNLESS you bring in a bonehead coach that tries to change their playing styles. You have to compliment them with good line mates, allow them space & time, and SUPPORT for training, nutrition etc etc etc.
Easy peasy. Just don't ever bring Tocchet or some bone-head.
Management made so many mistakes. Keeping jt miller instead of keeping horvat which was captain and then trading miller 2 years later. Now hughes captain will get traded soon. Losing brock boeser for nothing. They pick the wrong coach who can coach only specific type players. And trading picks and prospect to make this coach happy. And coach just up and left. This team a mess.
This management and this ownership are starting to make me stop flowing the team.
You can't have that many injuries to key players (Demko especially) Pete had four injuries, Hughes missed 14 games (if they don't get injured they are in the playoffs) even with the struggles and the personality conflicts. The whole team underperformed not just one guy. It seems like with a few additions, good health and the right coach the team should be on the right track again.
They could make Manny the assistant coach and promote Foote to head coach
Tear it down. Get rid of Hughes, Petey and Demko. Get the most you can while you still can.
