  1. This is a group, a select group, probably the first time in my lifetime, where I have seen so much individual talent plugged in together to make a team, that has had no struggle together in the regular season because night after night, one team at a time, they can surely find ways to get to 100 points. They will always fail in the playoffs because more systematic, integral, hungrier teams will inevitably find all their holes and ravish them for all they’re worth.

  2. First time I've ever agreed with MJ, he's smarter that i thought. 😂, Sens are making better adjustments. It's like any other tournament, you must improve and adjust, or you drop.

  3. 100% go to Woll for Game 6 – Stolarz physically and mentally exhausted. He has played more games this year than in his entire career.

  4. I said it when they won game 3 that they should not get excited because there’s a possible 7games, and here we are lol. Sens will win it if Ullmark plays like last game

  5. I think Leaf fans need to do a better job of backing the team. Yes they are more or less playoff cursed. Yes they are terrible in series clinching games. But who cares. Curses are made to be broken. Hearing the fans boo the leafs last night was not cool. The leafs just need one more win to close the series. They have 3, they can get a 4th!

  6. The Leafs have great players who cannot score. They have scored 9 goals in the last four games. They lack the finesse to do the job. Surprising? Not at all. This is a history of NEVER winning. I have been a Leaf fan since the ‘50’s. They are pathetic in the corners and cannot shoot. If Ottawa scores the first goal in game 6, then the Leaf players should start calling their caddies. Frankly, I give them little chance of getting to round two. Tally ho guys, get ready to pack your bags.

  7. i really dont care about the regular season, or its stats… take willy off the power play. hes not mentally tough in those moments and doesnt play with grit either. hes a smooth and silent killer. a pretty goal scorer. we knows hes amzing off the rush and hes got 13 pp goals in the RS. but in the playoffs its not about pretty. you need to simplify the set up and put pucks on net and let the big guys like JT and Knies do their thing in the slot. i wanna remind everyone how good our pp was without toners and Mcmann was on with JT and Kniesy. these are guy who will shoot dirty and be aggressive in the slot and make a smart play and score a rebound. we dont need fancy, pretty, or calculated goals. we have that skillset naturally … we need to put the effing puck on net. the majority of the team has bought into the grittyness it takes to win playoff hockey, but im sorry william nylander does not have what it takes to play like that in these high pressure situations. as weve seen thus far, the majority of the core 4 are clutch goal scorers and pretty goal scorers, while guys like Knies and JT fight the 50/50 puck battles which lead into great offensive opportunities because of how physical they play. another thing we need to do is coach our third and fourth lines better. Mcmann, Domi, Jancrook and Lorentz need more love and motivation and they need to be told they are good enough to help us close games in these high pressure situations. they are bringing more grit and physicality yet no offensive finishes. whatever man i know that this year we are way better and overall we are buying into this new identity and system that coaching is creating, but its so hard to ignore the fact that the core 4 havent accomplished anything in 9 years. THEY are the ones who make up the PP. THEY are the ones the team needs to rely on in these moments… i mean if you cant get a PP going then what are we doing ? i just hope we win this series so were not embarrassed and some how come back even stronger for florida which will be even harder but who even has patience to go there right now

  8. THE REFS!! THAT IS THE REAL PROBLEM! TAVARES WAS FLATTENED IN FRONT OF THE NET WITHOUT THE PUCK! SERIES SHOULD HAVE BEEN OVER AFTER LEAFS WINNING GAME 4! THE FACT THAT THE SERIES IS STILL GOING AND THE SENS WON GAME 5 IS ABSOLUTE BULLSHIT!!

  9. 3 overtime games. Potentially it could have already be over for Toronto. Truly overrated. The leafs will probably win but there will never win four rounds of playoff hockey. Enjoy your first round victory because that’s as far as you’ll ever get.

  10. Can you imagine having a job covering the Leafs and having to ask the same questions to the same guys year in and year out ?
    That’s gotta be boring.

  11. We must accept the inevitable. Sens are a grittier team . Leafs hang on to weak postseason players like Mathews and Marner. Tkachuk is a behemoth compared to those squirmy worms.

  12. The core four are wound up too tight! They need to relax a little and enjoy the moment. Take a deep breath. Don't clutch your stick so tight. Relax. Still skate hard etc … but mentally relax and It will come. Good luck boys.

  13. How did Ottawa get back in the series? The Leafs sucked big time in game 5. Its nothing Ottawa did. Reminded me of the reg season

  14. The Leaf's fanbase and media are their own worst enemy. When a player can't go hit up a Starbucks/Tim Hortons without being recognized or hounded, it gets in their head, and the only constant since 1967 has been the city and fanbase. The cycle goes like this:

Media hypes up the largest, most profitable fanbase in the sport –> Fans buy into it –> Regular season success yields "this is our year" sentiment –> Pressure gets in their heads –> Playoff choke –> Offseason malaise –> Repeat.

I've theorized this from living in Dallas and seeing the same thing happen with the Cowboys.
