As a Caps fan, we play Cane's poorly. We don't match up well. I think Cane's win in 5 actually.
I am more thrill because I have an autographed "Blue Weagle" Bondra jersey autographed by Bondra himself.
The April 3rd game was also notable because Logan Thompson was injured. He didn't return until The first game of the playoffs vs. Montreal.
Think the Canes will most likely take it but I hope it goes 7 this will be a good series
The Canes are low in blocked shots because they just don’t allot a lot of shots. They routinely lead the opposing team in shots by a significant margin. You can’t block shots that aren’t taken.
So your "hope", is that the Capitals win. gotcha lol.
fair refs: canes win. but i doubt at capitals home ice the refs will call things evenly both ways and every time theres a penalty. especially with the way the refs have been for all series this year so far

As a Canes fan I’m good with the Caps being the favorite. This is familiar underdog territory for us, and this is usually when the Canes do their best. I don’t feel comfortable whenever we’re favored 😣. Apparently we didn’t have a chance against them in 2019 so I like that kind of talk 😎👍🏽

Now Ovechkin can fight a man instead of a kid in 2019. Could be a heck of a fight now with both being grown men. Still, I can see ovie knocking him out even at 39 cause ovie is very difficult to hit the way he burries his head between shoulders while throwing blows. Would love another knockout for Ovechkin and him not feeling bad about it like last time.

I believe the 5-1 win for Carolina happened right after the Caps clenched the playoffs, and was the game where Carolina alao clinched? Something like that. It was a maximumly motivated Carolina team against a Washingtom team that was completely unmotivated.
I predict that Carolina will out shoot Washington. That's a safe prediction.
As for outscoring Washington, that depends on Andersen. Thompson should be solid against Carolina's barrage of quantity over quality when it comes to shooting. Thompson went through a rough stretch after four nations, but he seems to be back to his early season form (it seems that he was playing hurt for a while, and taking some time off at the end of the season looks like it was exactly what he needed). The question is how well Andersen will do against Washington's quality over quantity when it comes to shooting. The Capitals are the best shooting team in the NHL – their high percentage is skill, not luck.
Hopefully Andersen and Protas (and Thompson) are all fully healthy.
Carolina is the favorite, Las Vegas. They odds have them behind Florida for the Cup. Jankowski, and Stankoven for Rantenen and they are all on fire. Hurricanes in 5 not even competitive!

Two wildly different teams. I think the key is going to be for the caps is maintaining vision for Thompson and keeping the canes to the outside, this should prevent any kind of reliable scoring. For the Canes they have to win this series in the Neutral zone, if you cannot stifle one of the nasties zone entry teams in the league you are screwed, you also must to the death of you stay out of the penalty box.
Odds makers have Florida #1 most likely to win the SC and Carolina #2 most likely to win it. Washington is sitting at # 7 right now depending on who wins tonight between Winnipeg and St. Louis.
