  1. I don't know why they would trade Barzal, he's always been productive and can skate well. He was injured this year, and I think he can still play.

  2. NO EXTRA PICK FOR ISLES. And brock didn't make much of an impact for avs showing once again brock was one of isles top players but on a team loaded with talent just looked average and isn't an impact player. So much for tdl loading up. Avs should have kept that mikko guy. Brock couldn't replace that scoring.
And this first round pick whether isles move up or not is important. It gets another good young player into system as isles build for future and will look good with eiserman, ritchie, and my dream-mckenna '26. Maybe a projected top 5 will fall to isles if they keep 10?
And word is habs are in hot pursuit of 13. If 13 can get isles a nice package for future why not deal 13? 13 is going to waste on isles with not enough offensive support around him. And it sounds like bergevin could be isles new gm. A big deal with his former team perhaps?
And 16 palffy was indeed isles last true sniper who went to waste on shit isle teams scoring 40+ three straight seasons with 48 g's 92 pts. (no isle has topped that since) the high playing with shit linemates. I remember ziggy saying he studied film of the greatest g scorer ever 22 while he was with isles to better understand goal scoring. Who better to study than 22?

  3. wow noooo way the draft is gonna be live like that! i just asked chat gpt why this isnt televised… this is exciting!

  4. Barzal didn't benefit from having Duclair on the same line. Duclair was a disappointment. Yes, Barzal played injured. He'll be ok

  5. I hope they get the GM from the Kings. Although they've been a disappointment in the playoffs, the team is talented and they do well during the season.

  6. I did the draft lottery simulator. It took nine tries for isles to win it. Got backed up to 11 or 12 as well so that will probably be the outcome for isles. sj won it the most. b's a couple of times. hawks, flyers, rags also won. Isles need a lot of balls for next years mckenna '26 lottery. You will see a lot of ugly hockey next season and sneaky tank jobs for mckenna.

  7. I think Nelson was the relatively small or an anticipated risk for the Avs, at least compared to the way they must’ve been totally baffled when Rantanen ended up in Dallas after they had traded him to Carolina and comes back to single-handedly eliminate them in the first round!

  8. Chicago will take Barzal, I’m all for trading bad contracts and players that have Aged Out, My Choice in return turn would be quality Top Prospects, I’m a believer in Farm Teams, we need a General Manager that’s going to pay attention to Bridge Port, thank you Gil !!!

  9. The Islanders should magically get the 1 st overall pick for the NHL’s last minute cancellation of the All Star Game! Islanders won the Nelson trade! We need to trade to open up salary to get draft picks, and prospects! This includes trading Barzal! Trading Barzal to the Habs for the 16th and 17 th picks plus a prospect or player! 5 first round picks in 2 years is a big deal! You can rebuild and grow your prospects! If you have cash you can always add a UFA! Matt is a star but not a superstar!

  10. Good 🌄 Gil. How are you? The last deal Lou Lamoriello made when he traded Brock Nelson to CO, AND IT WORKED OUT TO FOR THE ISLANDERS. I want to 👀 the Islanders to move up on the Draft Lottery. The San Jose 🦈 has a strong chance to pick 1st. The Islanders need a GM before they have the actual draft. Whether it's a rebuild or retool, it's still an improvement. The Avs let the 🌟 comeback. I'm confused about something. When the 🌟 got penalized with a double minor for roughing on the Avalanche player that's one thing, but this guy was bleeding , and I thought when blood in drawn, it's an automatic 5 minutes. It's just a rumor that Barzy wants out. Yes, it was a disappointing year only because he's been hurt. HAPPY 🎂, ZIGGY. The closest thing to a sniper since Mike Bossy. To this day, I still think Mike Milbury shouldn't have traded him, CAP SPACE OR NOT. He scored a 🎩trick and an assist in a win over the Bruins. Hear from you later, Gil. It's ⌚️for nostalgia, and I hope go back to talk about May 24th, 1980. Now, LET'S GO ISLANDERS.

  11. My biggest concern is timing. There are some good coaches available, but they will probably be scooped up before we sign a GM.

Other than his FO% tanking in 2 games, Brock was pretty much what I expected. A strong defensive center who would make some plays. I don't understand why the Avs used him as the deep / net front guy for most of the series. That isn't his game.

  12. Barzal is our favorite player….never ever trade him!!! After that press conference in 2021 he’ll always be an Islander..always. Just the essence of excellence and class.

  13. Barzal is a good 2-3 rd liner he can skate and he is average on everything else the islanders need a true couple of goal scorers they havent had that in years and than barzal would be more affective skate around and set the goal scorers up

  14. I am curious. Not a NYI fan but watch their games and here is a question for NYI fans. So you think with this current roster a retool is possible or is a rebuild better? I ask this with the caveat to please remember at least in hockey it seems like ppl confuse tear down, rebuild and retool. To my eye the Isles feel not very far away and very far away. What I mean is they have some good players but lack that “player” so it would be so easy for them to stay in the worst place in sports. The mushy middle. Any thoughts appreciated.

  15. Gotta say Gil, if I was Barzal I’d be happy that Lou is gone. Barzal has stated he doesn’t like barely getting into the playoffs and we all saw Lou was fine with it. I think Barzal will have a massive season next year

  16. Say, I can't fathom how you equate the Isles "winning the trade with the Avs" since Colorado happened to lose in dramatic fashion to Dallas. Avs failed to proceed with Nelson, so the Isles won out?? What the Isles got for Brock did not in the least change with the Avs outcome regardless! So, the logic escapes me.

  17. Good morning team! Gil, in all seriousness, a few players, and we all know what players I mean, including but not limited to Barzal, should NEVER be traded, let go, what have you. It's insane to think we can be a contending team without Barzy. I can't say that enough. Looking forward to the lottery and draft. Bring it on, can't wait. Fingers crossed we move up a few spots. Thank you, Sir for what you do. Keeping the hockey season alive, even through the off season. I need to forget about the double header screw up by the Mets yesterday! Everyone, have a great day! Talk to you all again tomorrow. Until then.. Let's Go Islanders!!

  18. They pointed out Gil that the current Avalanche GM is not the one who built the Stanley cup. They move Rantenen far away, who could imagine that would happen to burn them. I wonder how healthy Landeskog was. Makar needs to improve his coverage IMO. Marner to Chicago. Gotta a ways to go after watching pinpoint shots and tips from different players in these playoffs. They need a new front office now to do this draft! If Barzy is upset at Lou leaving, you have to question his judgment. Barzy needs a coach to raise his game. He often doesnt know what to do and also lack of talent. How about a trade to Nashville Trotz reunion?

  19. Gil that's why i said mid season we all knew they weren't going anywhere trade whoever you can get picks probably would have finished in bottom 5

  20. The Nelson trade didn't backfire. He played fine. IF the other players were doing well and he wasn't, sure…but they all didn't play as they should have. The REAL mistake was letting go of Rantannen. They HAD this in their pocket…and they screwed it up.
