It never hurts to listen to a fresh perspective. If bringing the cup back to NJ is the goal, seek unorthodox opinions to play outside the box.
NJ needs to look outside of North America for top free agent talent sometimes, it's not all within Canada/US.
The Oilers signed:

– Atro Leppänen, set Liiga record for points by defenseman with 60 in 63gp, for 1 year, $975,000
To put these contracts in perspective, and express how low-risk they really are, NJ signed Tomáš Tatar for $1,800,000 last off season…
Both Tomášek and Leppänen will cost Edmonton a combined $2,175,000…
