  1. I woildnt say its a distinct kicking motion so i think itll be called a goal. Not sure didnt watch this game

  2. I believe the refs explanation was a little much, he said that the goaltender put in his own net. But no Dallas Stars player or Winnipeg Jets player was able to get possession of the puck before that went in. Yes, it did go off of the goaltenders stick, but Hellebuyck’s job is a goaltender, trying to make a save. And he did not get possession of the puck And remembering from past games and past referee explanations no one got possession of the puck into me that looked like a distinct kicking motion that should be no goal. If you remember the Toronto Maple Leafs and the New Jersey Devils game, where they got three goals called back, you might remember one of those goals being a distinct kicking motion. Unless in the NHL rulebook, it says it can go off the goalie and still count. But in that instance, it went off a Toronto player who did not get possession. Neither did a Devil’s player get possession. Same thing here neither Jets or Stars players were able to get possession of the puck after the distinct kicking motion. Including in the refs explanation, he said it was a kicking motion, but the goal tender put the puck in his own net. Personally, that is a bad call in a tie game. It should be No Goal. If there’s somewhere in the NHL Rule Book that I’m incorrect I wouldn’t mind being informed. Including the NHL doesn’t even know its own rules…

  3. Sure he kicked the puck towards his stick and didn't make contact with it from that moment but it wasn't going into the goal from the kick itself.

  4. i look at it this way, the puck wasn’t going in the net but was going in that direction due to a kick and no player got possession of the puck before it went in so id say no goal but thats my opinion🤷‍♂️

  5. Well. As per rules its no goal. But its Dallas. Not the first time the NHL has broken its own rules for Dallas and it wont be the last.
