  1. I don’t think Boston has ever sent out an offer sheet. I never recall them ever doing it. I don’t think they’ll start now either especially with Sweeney.

  2. Our pick will be too good next year to send it away in an offer sheet. And Sweeney and Neely think of themselves as gentleman and wouldn't do it anyways

  3. I am in Windsor where DiPietro is from and somebody told me he is unrestrictred this year even though he is only 26 because he is playing in the AHL(not sure if thats true), would like them to ring him up but he hasn't really been tested much in the NHL… I also can't bring myself to watch any thing of Marchand in a Florida uniform

  4. I don’t see the Leafs signing all 3. I would take anyone of them along with Brock.

  5. Boeser has been really good the last ten games but he is 25 goal/ 50 point guy. He turned down 8×5 from Vancouver and hes going to want to be paid for the 40 goals he got Last year. He wants a deal that takes him to 36 yrs old. He can put up geekie numbers for twice the price if hes playing with Pasta. If we sign Marner and then Boeser im ok with it but tbh i dont want to be last years Vancouver Canucks unless were getting Quinn Hughes. I live in BC and have seen this guy play a lot, and im wary. Same with eihlers. No NMC at all if we sign them. I would rather offer sheet Knies but am not willing to gamble next years first rd pick. This team needs more work then people think…..

  6. Good post. . 15 million for three Brock Boeser types probably better than 15 for One Marner. Knies looks great but two concussions that we've seen make me cautious about trying to overpay steal him. But I like the thinking process. 9 per would get it done maybe

  7. No more Vancouver players .please stop with anyone from Vancouver. We should stopped at NEELY

  8. Yes let’s bring in a bunch of vets on massive FA overpays. Because that worked so well for Nashville and Pittsburgh!!

  9. I can't imagine the Leafs wouldn't match any offer sheet given. Boeser is an interesting option, although coming back home to Minnesota seems more likely. I wouldn't object to seeing him in the spoked B, even if his production is probably not going to be what it was last season.

  10. I want the Bruins to take this time to fix their prospect situation. I think they could use a couple down seasons to get some top picks and keep the team good for years. I think they should consider spending only what they need to spend for this next year and figure out what they have and need by seeing extensive play from younger guys. A couple years of high picks would not kill them or us. Boohoo they might lose a few percent of their revenue, but they would probably make it up by setting the team up long term. I feel spending a bunch of cap space on older guys is just going to elongate the problem and instead of a down year or three we end up with a decade long relationship with mediocre at best. As a Steelers fan, I am quite familiar with this approach to team management, and I do not like it much.

  11. I was just thinking about Boeser the other day. I think he would be good on the bruins, however he doesn't drive play and someone like E.Lindholm needs line mates who drive play.

  12. Yes to Knies, from the first time I saw him I thought he was a Bruin. In the same ilk as Gallagher and Boone Jenner.
I disagree on Korpisalo, I think he has been good this year, on a very bad team. I have no problem moving him though, and was surprised someone like Carolina or Edmonton didn't show interest. Carolina hasn't shown they know anything about goaltending in years. They lost the series vs the Rags due to Rod not having the balls to put the kid in.
I still think a HUGE issue is Hampus. If he's not back, we are screwed.

  13. Why do you think Brad wouldn't take a team friendly deal? And if he did come back would he still be the captain?

  14. Best of luck to Boeser. Knies is a good player. I am not sure if Toronto will let him go. Buffalo has 8 centres one might be in Vancouver.

  15. BOESER? No! The Bruins need to rebuild with talented and promising young talent. And I'm sick of trading with Vancouver! Of all the NHL teams, it seems Neely only knows the one in his hometown (and the one that originally drafted him).

KNIES? Right away! Young. Physical player, good skating, good hands. Very good potential.

  16. No brainer to offer sheet Knies. A $9 million 5 year contract would only cost a 1st, 2nd and a 3rd round pick. A slight overpay for the first couple years and a steal in the last 2. At worst the Leafs match and they eat up their salary cap – still a win.

  17. Id rather have marner than boeser. That way elias lindholm can be a #1 center with two #1 wingers on the top line

  18. Bruins fan masquerading as a Leafs fan here. Knies to the B's would be awesome, he's fit right into the mold. You'd tear the heart out of alot of Leafs fans, this one included.

  19. No more western conference players..we need guys from the East that know how to mix it up and score!

  20. Leafs are gonna resign him. You guys keep dreaming, but you guys are thinking that you're gonna sign marner, too. If Matthew is a true leaf, he won't go to Boston don't matter if there's an offer sheet or not this day n age player's can say they refuse to play for certin team's. It happen to the flyers. Jason spessa leafs put him on waivers he said any team's claim him he would retire. Leafs did that to make cap space for trade deadline few year's ago he got assigned to all but stay with the leafs

  21. Knows has a ton of production, but look who he’s playing with. He won’t be playing with that level of talent in Boston.

  22. Personally i like to see Draft Misa & sign Boeser keep guys like geekie beecher lauko koepke. And pray you can use your 26 1st round pick on McKenna. Ditch Potrais Middlestadt Wotherspoon & Korpisalo.

    Pasta Lindholm Geekie

    Zacha Misa Boeser

    Lauko Minten Lysell / Letteri?
    Lastly
    Beecher Kastelic Koepke

See how the D plays out due to the injuries Goaltending Swayman Bussi.

  23. I'm sorry, I realize Marner is an incredible offensive player, but I've watched him absolutely disappear in the playoffs wayyyyyyyy too many times for me to even entertain adding him if I'm Sweeney.

  24. Also, I 100% hope Marchand wins the cup too this year (doesn't hurt that, as an American hockey fan, Four Nations turned me into the biggest Tkachuk stan on the planet). And I was for sure happy for Marchand when he scored. But seeing him score while wearing another team's sweater filled me with sadness and rage haha.

If by some miracle he's back next year after helping Florida make it to at least the third round thus turning the second we got for him into a first, all will be forgiven. But if all of that doesn't happen, goodbye Sweens.

  25. I do not understand the love for Lohrei…a talented offensive guy, and huge defensive liability. When ever there is a breakaway or 2 on 1 you can count on Lohrei having been burned allowing it to happen. Geekie should be re-signed, move Lohrei to wing or get rid of him – terrible. You make it sound like signing Boeser makes Boston an immediate contender…no way. Boeser isn't going to make any difference, Boston has ONE guy who can score, and we all know who that is – after him, Bruins scoring goes off a cliff. Re-sign Khusnutdinov.
You hear that buzzing? It's your alarm clock going off – you've been dreaming of Knies in a B's sweater…not happening…
NEITHER G has been that good – mostly because the horrendous D in front of them. Teams have no problem moving the puck in and setting up shop right in front of EITHER goalie. Korpisalo has played as well as Swayman has (sometimes better) and Swayman's making 3 x as much – which isn't good.
Forget Boston re-signing a couple scrubs or 4th-line players – that ain't going to move the needle on a team this devoid of talent. They need to START with the front office – get Sweeny and Neely out of there, replace them with someone who can identify TALENT, those two can't.

  26. If the Bruins want to trade a first, second, and third and overpay for Knies in a long-term contract, ultimately, the Leafs would win that deal all day long. The Leafs would have happily made that trade at the deadline.

  27. JT's11 million coming off the books and that is the money needed to sign Knies and according to Chris Johnston he wants to remain a Leaf. Bruin's management can sign John Teveres or Mitch Marner? Calolina wanted Knies and picks for Rantanen but Leafs GM rejected the trade. Bruins have own cap issues signing swayman to almost 9 Million, McAvoy 10 Million both Lindholm's for almost 15 Million, Pasta 11 Million. Bruins couldn't afford Marchand @ 6 Million and then Brad said "I will take a pay cut. How can you afford Knies?

  28. Mason Lohrei – John Beecher and Morgan Geekie will all need raises but maybe leafs Pontus Homberg might be offersheeted by Bruins?
