How can someone say he turned his back on them? the guy didnt want to get traded got traded anyway and then told teh team he wouldnt sign long term, it didnt refuse to dress. A player isnt required or expected to sign long term with a team they were traded to against there will in the last year of their contract.
I don't think he turned his back on the team more or less didn't wanna sign long term, think he was prob so surprised on the initial trade that wasn't until he got to Carolina he even thought about what other teams he would play for. Like the previous comment he didn't refuse to play or suit up he just didn't want to sign long term with them so they traded him. People are thinking way too much into this. Think the real ? Is why did Colorado trade him?
I have been saying this sense the playoffs started. Thats the final I want to see. I want Carolina to beat Dallas so bad!
What is wrong with everyone? "Ultimate Revenge", Revenge for what? Offering a guy 12million a year? When he says he isn't staying no matter what taking the time to find him a city that he wanted to be in? Or for telling a club, "hey, this isn't a good fit for me, I don't want to stay, ill sign somewher and let you move me so you don't get screwed". I just feel like there's nothing on either side to be pissy about.

Rantanen didnt want to play in Carolina AVS just did send him there and Rantanen did tell Day one to Canes leaders no im not going to sign any papers with you. Alr 1st off he doesn’t have to play anywhere he doesn’t want to, he was traded when obviously he didn’t wanna leave Colorado in the first place, saying betrayed or “turned his back on” is a lil much I don’t think there’s any bad blood with Carolina like if it wasn’t a good fit it wasn’t a good fit, is it what it is, but dude why wouldn’t Mikko want to leave the canes to come to Dallas, where they’re all Finland homies 🇫🇮 lol it just makes so much more sense and he’s fitting in quite nicely.
Let them meet… Dallas would lose in 4 tbh and look hopeless. Carolina is the better team by a long shot. That offense in Dallas doesnt matter when you face a team thats given up all of ONE 5 on 5 goal this playoffs, and a whopping ONE power play goals…. on a 5-3 PP nonetheless. I hope they meet… itll be funny to watch dallas get dismantled at the molecular level

I was SUPER excited to get Rantanen. Now he is dead to me. We traded two of my favorite players for him: Necas and Drury. At least Stankoven and Hall are working out well, so there is at least a silver lining.
this is what every canes fan is absolutely clamoring for.
was a tough couple weeks there in the middle of the season, left at the alter again (although guentzel was dundon’s fault, he DID want to be here, unlike rantanen), having to listen to all the BS from subban and the other national people saying no one wants to play here blah blah… then to get that revenge ON mikko… my goodness. slavin absolutely in his pocket for 6-7 games, then winning the cup would be worth every second, and all the heartbreak in the playoffs the last few years.
I'm a canes fan and mikko didn't have to sign for dallas he did us a favor so we could get a large return. Him signing gave us leverage. We would have got pennies if he didnt sign.
I still miss Necas
