This out come is why I hated the leaf's deadline moves. Trading away picks and prospects knowing that it would end the same. Good teams always have some cheap talent in the pipeline under contract control.

It’s crazy to think that 2 out of the top three Ufas are from Toronto and they couldn’t get it done….. I'm fine with letting Marner & JT go. That gives the team around 19 million to play with and make some significant changes for the first time in almost a decade. Good players, but the team chemistry isnt working, its time to try something new. If you stay pat, you likely won't get over the hump and the rebuild will be a lot worse.
