Panthers 16-4 in 3 games so far ….This is understating how bad the Canes are actually …This should have been a first round playoffs
What happens when they let the Mtn West conf champ…i mean metro division…play defending champs. Im not saying you fluked your way into ECF cuz i picked you to get here,& get killed by TB. Cuz i always thought you were the best on that side of the bracket but thats not saying much cuz its the way weaker side of the bracket in a dumb,& unfair format.
Just be glad u made ECFs cuz of the unfair & ridiculous playoff format. Fraud 9th or 10th best team vs def champs. Look at bright side-probably wouldnt even make playoffs if ya were in the central division. Maybe yad eke out 8th seed wild card over St Louis.

I heard this pod caster before the series babbling about how the Hurricanes are pretty much a better team than the Panthers because two years ago even though it was a sweep each game was only won by one goal and now the hurricanes are so much better!This is a clear case of how sports guys are just guessing man it’s not even close. This is a massacre. This guy picked hurricanes in 6 lmao! Then what cracks me up is how all this is the hurricanes fault for getting destroyed very little credit to the Panthers being a dynasty

Canes aren't shooting enough…they have the same problem the NY Rangers had…trying to make perfect passes, trying to be a finese team – when what you need to beat Florida is grueling and brutal, and messy.

poor Orlov, numerous mistakes all series. Guessing he and maybe some of the other Canes are playing injured, more so than the other 3 remaining teams. If they are eliminated this whole "no superstars' approach to teambuilding needs to go into the dumper. Maybe new ownership, new management, new plan.
When Canes get a real G.M. who can make a real hockey trade. And a coach who can adapt & think on the fly….they currently dont have either. Also 1/3 of the team needs to seek employment elsewhere….I never again want to hear how freaking great Sebastián Aho & Andrei Svechnikov are…because they aren't. It would also be great if they didn't have a Staal on the team. And a Burns, and a Hall. Major rebuild or new coach & management. If not you can count me out next season if Rah, Rah Rod still there.
Florida was hitting hard, skating fast, and really connected. I saw Panthers getting to the puck first and while defensemen came forward, the forwards fell back to cover. That is pure grind mentality. You can't teach that for a series. This is who they are. They wear teams down and are happy doing it.
The truth is the Canes would probably match up nicely with just about every other team in the NHL except the Panthers.
Carolina needs 2 things. 1 and new coach and 2 a quality goaltender

Canes are done. They have the talent to return to the playoffs next year however if they don’t toughen the fuck up the6 won’t go anywhere. And I won’t pay fifty fucking dollars for parking
I found the confidence coming from Hurricane fans and media because of how they dominated New Jersey and Washington. They said their goaltending and defense were better. Yeah the stats showed that but look who they played. You can't tell me the Panthers wouldn't have better defensive stats if they had the Hurricanes opponents. Tampa and Toronto were top ten offenses.
I will say Hurricane fans are way less toxic than Toronto fans. I would've preferred the Panthers to run over the Maple Leafs the way they are doing to the Hurricanes. I guess you could say they did for two games.

As Panthers fan here is what I think is happening:
I think the biggest thing is mental. Obviously the being swept 3 times in the ECF in a row is having an effect. Also, the Panthers are obviously in their head and frustrating the heck out of them and when that happens you've played into the Panthers mind trap.
Secondly, the Hurricanes play a very similar system to the Panthers but the Panthers have the better depth and having the best 2-way Center in Barkov has a huge advantage. But the most important thing is depth because Barkov has shut down Hucherov and Matthews/Marner (though admittedly they did Barkov some trouble early on). And so he will neutralize the Canes top talent.
3rd, you need a better playoff goalie. While I agree that the goalies in this series are definitely not totally at fault but you need a goalie that is capable of making stops that he isn't supposed to stop way more often and I don't think you have one. But they are hard to come by.
But I do think the Canes are not that far off from seeing the Stanley Cup Finals.
Hall killed them by making that IDIOTIC decision. That's what's so frustrating. It was game over at 2-1.
Just like the Leafs I do not think the Canes are that bad. It is our Cats that are that good. Their brilliance make most other teams look clueless.

Thanks Zach, lots of experts with their opinions being shared and how bad the Canes are which is funny. The Sad reality is the boys are not looking anything like they did in the first two series. The top players aren't making the plays, getting their shots off, the Canes aren't playing their system like they normally do. IF the Canes were playing their best, then I could say, yeah the panthers are so much better, but the reality is the Canes don't look like their self. Sure, the Panthers are playing their best hockey ever, and with the Canes playing so poorly, they make the Panthers look that much better! It's too bad, I'm not superstitious, it's so unfortunate! IF the Canes were playing their best game and they got swept in the playoffs, I could accept that, but to see them not playing their best, it just feels a bit sad.
Let's hope the Canes can get one. I think it's very important to the future of the franchise, as dramatic as that is. They have to go down at least getting one….just play smart for THE ENTIRE GAME.
