The most ridiculous thing is if the rumors are true and they were trying to trade up for pick #5 with Carolina, they would have had picks 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 to huddle up and figure out what they were going to do. It's not like Carolina took Hanifin and instantly a spotlight appeared on them and they had to shout out three names.

Dupont has gone easy on the Bruins over the years. It seemed for awhile in the 2000s that he was on the payroll.
Im glad most of social media is lighting these guys up. As a long time bruins fan im more worried than ever after watching this shit show. Im gonna make it simple. Take the highest ranked fwd at their draft position, dont take the czech d man. Sign Marner or make a trade for a real needle mover or tank for McKenna. Dont hand out Nmcs like theyre candy on Halloween or spend every cent on mid players, bring up Minten, Poitras, Locmelis, Lysell etc. Dont sign the Joker unless its a team friendly deal, this rhetoric going around that settled Zadorov down and made him better is nonsense, he got dog walked every single game.
Cam sounds like he owns the joint. Not good. Likely because C Jacobs is weak. Yikes.
This is more of a reaction to the way that Neely has conducted himself this year than I feel it is to this particular interview and interaction. Had he not done what he did in calling out Swayman and being too public earlier this year I would have very little problem with the way he reacted. Pulling him over to the side at the end is excessive and probably unnecessary but we don’t know their relationship dynamic.
Additionally if they really had covered the fact that they kind of messed up in some areas earlier in the interview and then questions kept going back to. Can you tell us why you keep messing up? It is perfectly understandable why someone would get frustrated with that.
Call me crazy, but they don’t see this scenario as dire because they think that with a healthy MacAvoy, healthy Marchand and a healthy Lindholm they see themselves in a wildcard spot.
“You pick in the top 10, you better hit.” That’s not taking responsibility for the pressure of hitting in 2025. That’s deflecting any pressure onto a player they haven’t even drafted yet.
They didnt have alot of furst round picks because SWEENEY TRADED MOST OF THEM,!!!! The worst part is that he didn't sign the players he traded the number one picks for. That is not a defense. Its on Sweeney.
This is why Sweeney will never get fired as long as his budd, Neely is there. He will defend him no matter what.
This is a very difficult lot to like the Bruins are. And it works from the top down…Jacobs, Neely, Sweeney, McAvoy, Swayman. It's become very easy to route against them. Of course, with them having the #30 farm system (up from #31 as of Jan/25; after trading their vets/gamers for marginal picks) and #28 in performance, many hockey people can surely call them one of the worst groups in the NHL. What makes it worse is their indirectly calling out those who see this and call them out for it as haters. Essentially, they are telling people to not question them as they increase ticket prices again. Who is going to tell them to bugger off? OK, I just did. 😜
This whole press conference was a train wreck. I don’t have a lot of hope for this management group figuring this out.

Cam is a very emotional Man. and he's never liked the camera on him.
I told him he's the second greatest Bruin, ever, next to Terry Orielly.
And he gave a dirty look and said thanks. I think he was offended ?
Jacobs sell the team you can’t fire Neely Sweeney and come out and admit you’re all wrong.
You people act like the Bruins have sucked for the last 20 years. They are the winningest team this century, have won a cup, been to the cup several times and are almost always in playoffs and they are always entertaining. They have made some desperate move the past 5 years to be cup contenders and it didn't work out. Their failure is they tried to draft the next bergy and David Krejci and that failure has landed them exactly where they are. Other than that, I'm not seeing a problem, teams can't always be great.

The problem with the Boston Bruins…is that they got rid of all of their Canadian players and loaded the team with US players and European players. When they won the cup in 2011…they had 20 Canadian players on the team. Now they have 3. You won't win a Stanley Cup with so few Canadian boys on your team…ever. Canadian players play with heart.
Another thing I can think of that people tend to forget with the Frederic pick, is He was a late first round pick and then debrincat went after him in the second round. I know a lot of teams passed on him for his size but look at him now. I would have rather them take the chance on a smaller guy with offensive upside
Name any team who has had the consistency being in the upper echelon of success in the nhl as the Bruins have been in the last 12+ years. To bash their drafting like this is reaching to say the least and made by people who have no idea about the sport and the nhl.
Sweeney should get fired for ruining Swayman's start affectively (yes he also wasn't good this year)
Misjudging both Zadarov and Elias Lindholm

They made 9 1st round picks in the last 10 years, they have McAvoy, Beecher, and Lysell to show for it. It's not that they don't have picks or draft late, it's that they target limited upside players who are "safe". Frederic ahead of Kyrou and DeBrincat. Beecher ahead of Pinto, Brink, and Hoglander. Vaakanainen over Robert Thomas and Josh Norris. Even Lysell was considered the safe option over Wyatt Johnston because he played during COVID. Even now, every name they're associated with in the next draft is the lower upside but safe option. It's their entire philosophy and it's the entire problem.

They bring in all these guys but they don’t even give them time to develop.
It all comes down to one thing, these two guys haven’t produced a very consistent record of success in their trading and drafting experiences. The proof is in their players out playing golf in April.
